My grandma always would draw these profiles . . . I am thinking I might frame this one.
She also always used hankies . . .
I used to iron hankies for her when I was little. She would sprinkle them using a soda bottle with a sprinkler top - then roll them and put them in the refrigerator until I ironed them.
These two she crocheted the edging and embroidered on for me. I don't know why my mom still had these. I was so excited she still did.
I find myself drawn to hankies like these when I get to go to thrift or antique shops. I've splurged on a few and received a few as gifts from my cousin who shares a common love of them. She gives me the blue ones and I give her some pink and we're both happy. How special to have the one's that your grandmother embroidered for you!
