good things today . . .

More origami cranes today . . . this time with Mr. Ford's 4th graders.
I wish I could post a picture of all of the their faces . . . so instead I will go with some of their t-shirts.  I love all the t-shirts I see everyday at school.  I am thinking there may be a photo project there . . . I will have to give that some more thought.
This group really caught on . . . and were finishing cranes in record time.

GOOD THINGS TODAY . . .
1. Folding paper cranes with Room 11
2. Making smoothies with our Ninja (I love this thing)
3. Fresh zucchini from the garden
4. Someone doing me a big favor . . . going above and beyond
5. My work family - they really are amazing!
6. Coctel de Camarones . . . thank you Jessica!
7. Sleeping baby photo . . . our dear little Avery Rose
8. Coming home . . .
9. Making some time to paint
10. Finding a boysenberry cobbler on my desk this morning . . . made by my boss

origami . . . charlotte . . . and ramen

Charlotte saw me folding paper cranes and wanted to make some herself.  She told the that she liked origami and she wanted to do it all by herself.
She asked for a little help at first . . . then decided that she was able to do it . . .
. . . so well in fact, that she folded this "origami bubble gum."

I love ramen . . . I have a weakness for ramen.  I think I could eat it nearly everyday.
So finally decided to find a recipe and make some.  It turned out pretty good . . . and I can't wait to make it again and try something a little different.
. . . .and - if you haven't seen the movie - Ramen Girl - find it and watch it!

A bowl of ramen is a self-contained universe with life from the sea, the mountains, and the earth. All existing in perfect harmony. Harmony is essential. What holds it all together is the broth. The broth gives life to the ramen.

origami therapy . . . .

The past few weeks have really put to test my word for the year . . . FAITH.
. . . and we are not through it by no means, but we will get through it.

One of the reasons I enjoy folding paper cranes . . . is that it is very calming for me.  I have folded so many that I can do it with little thought to what I am doing. (I am pretty sure I have folded well over 2000 paper cranes)
. . . I call it my origami therapy - just what I need sometimes.
This weekend I started folding paper cranes out of paper from an old book.  I hope to fold enough to cover a Christmas tree this year.  I have to get started now if I am going to have enough folded by December.
