Bella

This adorable puppy - "Bella", belongs to one of the girls that I work with. How precious is she?!
It is hard to snap a picture of her - she doesn't sit still for very long. She is on her way to the vet this morning - we don't ordinarily have pets in the office with us, but how fun it is when we do.
I finally took a few minutes to get the hair and little bloomers on my shabby little rag doll. The poor thing has been waiting for hair for some time. I like how she turned out using the old Raggedy Ann dress that I had. I took the sleeves off the dress to make her bloomers. She is shabby and recycled - poor thing!

Silly Crochet Project

I am not sure why I decided to crochet Sadie a hat - and I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. I was thinking dog beanie. This is what I ended up with.
Of course she acted embarrassed when I first tried it on her - and she wasn't too thrilled about having her picture taken. She acted like she didn't even want to look at me.
But say the magic word - "WALK" - and she is ready to show the world her beanie.

Sadie is in a Mood

Here is a recent picture of Sadie. She had surgery last Monday and still is not eating very well - so she is a little on the thin side. She is a picky about what she eats anyway - but it seems to be worse. We finally bought some different food - and coaxed her into eating it. It is probably just the fact that she had surgery - but I was getting concerned. She is also a little moody these days - I left her for two weeks when I went to Iowa - then two days later took her in to be spayed (in other words deserted her at the vet's office - I was feeling a little guilty). So maybe her mood is because she is mad at me - or also due to the surgery. For whatever reason - I am again amazed at how much this dog has won my heart. Jennifer looked at me last night and commented that she never thought she would see me like this over a dog. If she is mad at me - she must be getting over it - she is starting to follow me everywhere again.

Cup of the Day

My family tells me I am OCD - which may be true. One of the things that makes them say this about me (and there is more than one thing) - is that I have a thing about matching. Each day my coffee cup somehow has to coordinate with the outfit that I am wearing that day. (It honestly bothers me if it doesn't.) Richard and the boys think this is weird of course - although Richard does go along with it - by picking out a cup for me on days I am running late. (He would probably deny that.) So this is the cup of the day.
We took Sadie out for a ride.
She obviously was enjoying the day. You have to love those ears!

Posting Pics of the Pets

Boo is curled up on my lap purring - as I am typing. He mostly is a very independent cat - but also very loveable, and still playful. He was born underneath one of our portable classrooms at work. He was very young when I brought him home which I think made him very attached to us. He does have sort of a cautious, wild streak in him. He was the most adorable kitten.

Beautiful Sadie

Isn't she lovely? I can't get over how much I enjoy this dear dog. I love this picture of her!

Saturday Morning

I was up early this morning - but I am not up and on the move necessarily. I am taking my time and enjoying my Saturday morning. It is just myself and Sadie as I enjoy another cup of coffee and the quiet of the house. I should probably get moving - Richard and I plan on going to a cigar show and then head out to Vintage Days. I would also be content to just stay home today. I have some sewing I want to do and I want to crochet a hat before Tuesday. I guess I can do that after we get home.
Sadie is great company this morning as always. She follows me around wherever I go and seems interested in whatever I do. I am finding the companionship of a dog can really be a wonderful thing. Having never been much of a dog person - it is something new for me and I admit I have gone somewhat silly over this dog. I never would have predicted I would be so attached to her when Jacob brought her home.

Sadie

This is Sadie. We have had dogs in the past, but more for the sake of Richard and the boys. After putting our dog Kirby to sleep, I did not plan on ever getting another dog. The boys are grown up now and I have always preferred cats to dogs. Then along came Sadie. Jacob mentioned that a friend of a friend that someone knew - or something like that - had a basset hound that they were wanting to give to someone. Did I mention that I did not plan on getting another dog - ever? The next thing I knew Jacob brought the dog over to show us - and I was at Pet's Mart acting like a grandmother shopping for her first grandchild. We have had her about a year and a half now. I was hooked from that first day, but since then she has found a way into my heart - something I did not really expect.
She got out of our back yard one day this winter, and she was missing for nearly 2 days. I was not prepared for how I felt thinking that I may not get her back.
