Happy October!

I'm still around . . . and I'm still making zombie dolls.  :)
This year's theme was Peanuts.  Here is my zombie doll version of Lucy.
I had fun with this one.   What am I saying . . . I have fun making any zombie doll.

I also received a zombie version of Lucy.  The lady I swapped with this time makes
amazing dolls.  My 2 year old grandson was here when I opened
my zombie package . . . his response was, "CREEPY!"
I love creepy.  :)  I also love her shoes.  :)

I've also dressed a few skeletons during the month of October. I am trying to
get back in the habit of taking pictures of them again.

pumpkin head doll . . .

I had fun making this one . . . still may add a few details.
Now I want to make more pumpkin heads . . . . in all colors.
When is a monster not a monster . . .
. . . when you love it.

Oompa Loompa zombie . . .

The theme for this Fall's zombie doll swap was Willy Wonka.
This Oompa Loompa zombie went to Nevada.
He was so much fun to make.  I tend to always have a favorite thing with the dolls I make.
I would have to say my favorite things about him are his eyebrows and overalls . . . and the Willy Wonka head that he is carrying.  :)

I also included this skeleton that I dressed.
Isn't she lovely!
I think what I like most about this zombie doll swap . . . is knowing that there are
others out there who enjoy this silliness besides me.  :)
Take a look at Yarnigras Swapper Spot to see the other zombie dolls people made.

I'm still around . . .

I'm still around . . . . just not here.  Still not quite willing to give up this blog, but for some reason life seems to always get in the way.  I sometime think that my life should be less busy than it is . . . that is not the case.   So let me post . . . and who knows maybe it will happen again.
I am still making dolls, dressing skeletons, and creating when I can.  This is a zombie cat doll that I made for my cousin Amy.
It is October - my favorite month of the year.  I am decorating for Halloween of course.
I did another zombie doll swap this past month.  I will try to post pictures of that.  The theme this year was Willy Wonka.  I created a Oompa Loompa zombie . . . very fun doll to make.
Happy October!

Tulip Tully . . .

I can now post pictures of Tulip Tully . . . part of a Zombie Doll Swap.
Tully made her way to Louisiana last week . . . and finally arrived.
Lots of pictures . . . because she was a fun doll to make.

One of my favorite things about this doll is her hair.  It is made out of tassels off an old wool rug.
I love reusing old things to create with.

My family is used to me by now . . . but they still look at me weird
when I mix paint that looks like blood.  Yeah - sort of weird, but there a quite a few
women who participate in this swap . . . so I am not alone.  :)

A festival of tulips,

What could be more grand?

A vacation amongst the flowers . . .

. . . then something bit Tully’s hand!

 A twitch . . . a twinge . . .

Then Tully was undead.

As for those pretty tulips?

They all turned a deep blood red.

 Now zombies tend the tulips,

But have fun, don’t be afraid.

Because this festival features . . .

A zombie – tulip parade!

what i am working on . . .

I am working on a new zombie cat . . .
. . . and a zombie bunny.

The bunny first had to take a soak in some coffee . . .
. . . and then hang out for awhile to dry.  I am not sure what I am going
to do with him yet, but I think he is going to be fun to work on.

This is your Monday morning reminder that you can handle whatever
this week throws at you!

Happy Monday!

Here's the buzz . . .

I am going to attempt to get back to this blog . . . just as I am trying to get back to doll making.
It seems like it is faster and simpler to post on Instagram or Facebook, but I truly enjoy blogging and following other blogs.  I actually think posting on here keeps me motivated to create.
So, let's see how it goes.

I found these tiny bee buttons . . . and had this idea for "bee hair" and I am loving the "bee hair".

GOOD THINGS TODAY . . .
making a doll
"bee hair"
folding paper cranes
sunshine and warmer weather
Spring flowers
one week until Spring Break

Have a great day!

teacher on a bleacher . . .

Brent is like a son to us.  He has been a part of our life for over 30 years.
He changed careers and started teaching a few year ago.  With all the Elf on the Shelf ideas going around . . . he asked me if I could make a doll for him and it would be his "teacher on a bleacher".
I am anxious to see what ideas he comes up with.  He teaches 4th grade . . . the kids asked him if the teacher doll would bring goodies like the elf does.  😉
So tonight I am getting 34 treats ready for his class.
Always believe in magic!

There is something about this one I really like.
She is simply cute!

2021 Zombie Doll Swap . . .

Meet Mirana Mojito!
The theme for this year's zombie doll swap (hosted by Yarnigras Swapper Spot) was cocktails.
One of the cocktails my swap partner listed was a mojito.
What a fun doll to make . . . and I love how she turned out!

As far as cocktails go . . . MIrana Mojito is one of a kind.
She may have rum, and lime, and mint leaves like other mojitos,
but there is something a little bit strange and wonderful about Mirana.
Maybe it is the way people look at her – like they are not quite sure
they should risk taking a sip . . . maybe it is her urge to bite back when someone does get brave enough to take a drink . . . or maybe it is the dull throb in her head where some crazy bartender stuck a lime wedge that keeps her always a bit on edge.
Whatever the reason, Mirana prefers to be a little bit strange.
She has found when she is true to herself . . . that is when she is the happiest.

Of course I had to take her out for a Mojito . . .

A special thanks to Val for continuing to host this fun swap!
Happy Friday!
