when pigs fly . . .

Each year Lorraine celebrates National Pig Day on March 1st.
I met Lorraine through blogging when I took her Flying Pig Challenge years ago.
This arrived in the mail the other day . . .
. . . just as a reminder that anything is possible.   When Pigs Fly!

little fancy ghost . . .

I guess I never quite give up this blog and never go away completely.
Life is always busy for me . . . so even though they are far and few between,
posts will pop up here when I have the chance.
This fancy little ghost is part of the Year of Enchantment hosted by Yarnigras Swapper Spot.
Each month we have a different Halloween theme.
January's theme was a haunted ornament.
I put this off until the last minute . . . so went with something simple - a ghost.
She is pink, a little fancy with her rhinestone eyes,
and I hope . . . also a little creepy looking.
February's theme is "vicious plants" . . . I think that one will be fun.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

cutest werewolf ever . . .

We attended Charlotte's school play last night!
It was wonderful!  She was wonderful!  She gets a bit nervous now that she is a little older, but I think she may be a natural when it comes to being on stage.  She had so much fun and it was a treat to watch her and the whole group perform.
Cutest werewolf ever!!!
When is monster not a monster?

All dressed up with someplace to go.

peace!

I am all over the place these days . . .
. . . playing with my new Cricut machine that Jacob and Kasey gave
me for Mother's Day.  This was my first try at making a decal . . . and my heat press
was delivered yesterday - so tonight I experiment with a t-shirt.
This is going to be fun!
So when I say I am all over the place . . . I mean it.  I found myself this weekend working on dolls,
repotting plants, deciding to weave this old wire basket with fabric, cleaning out my closet.
I actually tend to be very productive when I get like this . . . Just hate to stop for any reason.

happy friday . . .

These "You've been egged" cartons turned out so fun and happy.
My mom helped me fill them with candy.  She can't do so many of the things she used to do because the arthritis in her hands . . . so she loves it when she can be part of making something with me.
That made it "egg-stra" fun.

What does your joy look like today!

GO DUKE!

Jacob has always wanted to see Duke play in person.  So he made that happen . . . and invited his dad to go with him.  Great time for both of them.

teacher on a bleacher . . .

Brent is like a son to us.  He has been a part of our life for over 30 years.
He changed careers and started teaching a few year ago.  With all the Elf on the Shelf ideas going around . . . he asked me if I could make a doll for him and it would be his "teacher on a bleacher".
I am anxious to see what ideas he comes up with.  He teaches 4th grade . . . the kids asked him if the teacher doll would bring goodies like the elf does.  😉
So tonight I am getting 34 treats ready for his class.

2021 Zombie Doll Swap . . .

Meet Mirana Mojito!
The theme for this year's zombie doll swap (hosted by Yarnigras Swapper Spot) was cocktails.
One of the cocktails my swap partner listed was a mojito.
What a fun doll to make . . . and I love how she turned out!

As far as cocktails go . . . MIrana Mojito is one of a kind.
She may have rum, and lime, and mint leaves like other mojitos,
but there is something a little bit strange and wonderful about Mirana.
Maybe it is the way people look at her – like they are not quite sure
they should risk taking a sip . . . maybe it is her urge to bite back when someone does get brave enough to take a drink . . . or maybe it is the dull throb in her head where some crazy bartender stuck a lime wedge that keeps her always a bit on edge.
Whatever the reason, Mirana prefers to be a little bit strange.
She has found when she is true to herself . . . that is when she is the happiest.

Of course I had to take her out for a Mojito . . .

A special thanks to Val for continuing to host this fun swap!
Happy Friday!

celebrate every day . . .

Celebrate!
Every day is a special occasion!

Life has been stressful, busy, and ever changing.  What's new - right?
Life has also been amazing, full of happy, and a blessing.
Life is like that I guess.
I am making time to create and play everyday.  I need that.  I think we all need that!

painting . . . playing . . . and Tatum

I'm sharing a couple of paintings I started.
I still have  more to do on them, but wanted to share what I have so far . . .
Hopefully I will get a chance to pint later tonight.
This one discovered painting this past weekend.
Rather she discovered slopping in the paint water.

fun . . . happy . . . wonky . . . flowers.

I joined an art workshop through Tricia Robinson last week.
As always I needed something to spark my creativity.  I get so busy with work and my mom and life in general that a don't take time for me and the things I love to do.
I am out of my comfort zone when it comes to painting . . . but Tricia makes it so much fun.  The point isn't to make it perfect . . . it is to just make it and have fun!
I had so much fun I signed up for her monthly "God Made Girl".  I have a feeling it is going to be very good for me.  Quite a difference from my zombie/monster dolls . . . but I have a feeling and hope it will all work together eventually.  I found a cute button last night while I was going through some "stuff" . . . and had an idea about a "wonky" monster doll.
Let the fun begin!
