celebrate every day . . .

Celebrate!
Every day is a special occasion!

Life has been stressful, busy, and ever changing.  What's new - right?
Life has also been amazing, full of happy, and a blessing.
Life is like that I guess.
I am making time to create and play everyday.  I need that.  I think we all need that!

What you think, you become.
What you feel, you attract.
What you imagine, you create.

painting . . . playing . . . and Tatum

I'm sharing a couple of paintings I started.
I still have  more to do on them, but wanted to share what I have so far . . .
Hopefully I will get a chance to pint later tonight.
This one discovered painting this past weekend.
Rather she discovered slopping in the paint water.
She tends to get messy . . . this one!

fun . . . happy . . . wonky . . . flowers.

I joined an art workshop through Tricia Robinson last week.
As always I needed something to spark my creativity.  I get so busy with work and my mom and life in general that a don't take time for me and the things I love to do.
I am out of my comfort zone when it comes to painting . . . but Tricia makes it so much fun.  The point isn't to make it perfect . . . it is to just make it and have fun!
I had so much fun I signed up for her monthly "God Made Girl".  I have a feeling it is going to be very good for me.  Quite a difference from my zombie/monster dolls . . . but I have a feeling and hope it will all work together eventually.  I found a cute button last night while I was going through some "stuff" . . . and had an idea about a "wonky" monster doll.
Let the fun begin!

A beautiful sleeping baby (she is a sweet one)
Progress on the fort we are building
Starting a new doll
A FaceTime visit with Avery Rose (so I could see her walk on her balance beam)
Not letting my grey hair bother me . . . the time has come to just go with the grey!  (It will take some time, but I am really excited about this change.  It just feels like it is time.)
A new llama pool float
Squirt guns

JOY . . .

I truly believe that you can find JOY in every day . . . and in doing that life is a bit easier.
Still working on this - (the painting and doodles - not finding joy) . . . I do that every day!

We celebrated my mom's 90th birthday this past weekend.
Not exactly as we had planned - but it was really nice.  My brother decided to make the trip to celebrate her birthday even though we postponed the full party.  (We now have to find a date where we can use the taco truck we had arranged . . . maybe we will use that to celebrate the day we can get everyone together again.)  We were able to get most of her grandchildren and great grandchildren to participate in a "Zoom" birthday party?   We all sang Happy Birthday and she blew out her candles.  I had baked pie for her birthday, but Avery she had to have a birthday cake - so thanks to Avery - she had a cake also.
Talk about JOY . . . it was the kind that brought tears to our eyes.

Clay being Clay - he didn't stay long, but it made the weekend so special for her.

I asked people to send mom birthday cards.  This was really fun!
She ended up getting more than 70 cards!  It took her awhile to go through them all.
There were fancy cards, old cards, handmade cards, recycled cards, photographs, cards from family, cards from old friends, new friends, and people she didn't even know.
JOY!

unicorn photo frame . . .

I haven't posted in so long . . . and I am not really sure why, other than I am busy,
but I'm almost always busy - so that is no excuse.
So time to get back to posting . . .
I had forgotten that I hadn't posted pictures of Avery's birthday . . . or of the photo frame that I made for her 1st birthday party.  In case it isn't obvious . . . the party had a unicorn theme.
The frame was really fun to make . . . except for using glitter spray paint to paint he main part of the frame . . . the cans kept clogging.  I think they need to design a better nozzle for glitter paint.
Three weeks later . . . and I am still seeing glitter in my house.

Happy Birthday Avery!

great day for a GREAT day . . .

We took Charlotte to pick out a Christmas Tree on Saturday.
The weather was beautiful.  It was a great day to be five!
She wanted to do everything and go everywhere . . .
and if you let yourself enjoy a day through the eyes of a five year old - you can have
nothing but a great day!!!

I am thinking Richard looks a little bit like Santa? . . .
or does Santa look a little bit like Richard?

I just like to smile,
smilings my favorite.

BEST DAY EVER . . .

Our Spring Break always includes the day after Easter.  Since Lily is out of school and I am off work - we usually spend this Monday together.  She was out of state the week before Easter . . . which made spending this day with her even more fun.  The highlight of the day was finding a container of lady bugs at Lowe's.  She released them in her yard . . . hoping some of them will stick around.
We had a great day which included a trip to the orthodontist and some shopping.
BEST DAY EVER!

Spring Break . . .

Spring Break meant a week off from work.  It also meant dying Easter eggs, going to the park, planting, painting flower pots, and holding babies.

The days spent with my granddaughters are the best days.  Throw in some beautiful Spring weather and I have come to believe . . . that life doesn't get any better!
