you've been egged . . .

I started a little Easter project last night.  After seeing some of these small egg cartons in a shop - I had to get some and have some fun with them.  I hope to finish up some of these tonight.
I also found some brightly colored cartons that I am going to fill with fun stuff for the grandkids.
I am now temporarily obsessed with these small cartons.

Begin each day with a happy heart.

Spring Break . . .

Spring Break meant a week off from work.  It also meant dying Easter eggs, going to the park, planting, painting flower pots, and holding babies.

The days spent with my granddaughters are the best days.  Throw in some beautiful Spring weather and I have come to believe . . . that life doesn't get any better!

one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower."

feeling relaxed . . .

It has been a long week . . . in a good way.
I guess I sort of decided to take the week off from everything . . . not just work.
The weather has been beautiful and it has been a joy just to be outside.
I basically relaxed and enjoyed every day.
It is back to work tomorrow . . . I think I tend to get more things done when I am working, so maybe in some ways that is a good thing.

GOOD THINGS THIS WEEK!
1. Dying eggs with Lily
2. Long walks and going to the park with Charlotte
3. Rereading To Kill A Mockingbird . . . then staying up to watch the movie
4. Gregory Peck
5. Easter dinner at Jake and Kasey's . . . a wonderful day with family and friends
6. Staying up late and sleeping in
7. Watching the kids hunt for eggs
8. lots of sunshine
9. getting plants for my garden
10. feeling very relaxed

spring magic . . .

"People from a planet without flowers
would think we must be mad with joy
the whole time to have such things about us."
~ Iris Murdoch, A Fairly Honourable Defeat

"It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.
And when you've got it, you want . . .
oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want,
but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
~ Mark Twain

Do I ever have spring fever!  I try to get a few miles walking and running in during my lunch break . . . and today I just wanted to keep going.
I probably posted the same thing last year
. . . but Spring never fails to work it's magic.
Oh, I do believe in magic . . . and I do believe there must be a fairy of some sort in this last picture - sitting in that tree soaking up the sunshine.
At least I like to think there is . . . life is just way more fun when you believe in MAGIC!

Saturday fun!

Yesterday was such a fun day with Charlotte.  Richard and I took her to Lowe's to get plants for the garden and some flowers.  That in itself was a great day . . . she took the garden section very serious and helped pick out plants . . . I let her choose the colors of flowers that she wanted.   From there we did lunch and frozen yogurt.  She insisted on that large gummy shark . . . I knew when I saw it that she would pick that for a topping.
We went home an got the plants in the garden beds.  I can't tell you how many times she moved the flowers from one spot to another before we got them planted.  She takes working very serious.  Then the real fun - painting her feet.  I saw these cute footprint butterflies on Pinterest.  We  put a few butterflies on flower pots to give to family.
I was trying to figure out how to give the kids their Easter gifts this year.  They all have baskets already . . . so I had bought each of them a new beach towel and I got the idea of folding them into a basket/bag to hold all their goodies.  I am excited about the book that I got for the girls . . . Yoko's Paper Cranes . . . very cute story.

March photo challenge . . . sunshine

How wonderful it is to look up and see the sun shining through the trees.  I find reasons to leave the office during the day just so I can go outside and and walk in the sunshine for a bit . . . the world smells of blossoms and on days like today I would like to just keep walking and not look back.

sunshine . . . flowers . . . rain

The day started of with sunshine - with rain on the way.  We have these beautiful tulip trees on our campus that have the most gorgeous blossoms every Spring.  They just don't last very long . . . and with rain on the way today, I thought I better snap some pictures of them.
March 2 photo prompt - Spring (Not the greatest pictures . . . but, it was that kind of day.)

. . . and National Pancake Day.  Charlotte helped me make Mickey Mouse Pancakes for dinner.

A day to be enjoyed . . .

What a beautiful day. We worked in the yard until the tennis courts called . . . It was a day to be outside.
We went to lunch after hitting and saw the cutest little girl who smiled and made faces at us through the window.  Richard handed her one of my paper cranes as she was walking out of the restaurant .  She came back to us before leaving and handed us the coloring pages she had been coloring.  Her smile was enough to brighten any one's day.
Stella wanted to be outside.  Charlotte always wants to be outside . . . the flowers in her hair seem to fit her.
Days like today are meant to be enjoyed!

Just for Today . . .

Outside my window . . . warm and overcast – I love this kind of weather.
I am thinking . . . if we take every day as it comes – we can get through just about anything.
I am thankful for . . . my husband.
From the kitchen . . . pancakes – Richard called me this morning and told me it was National Pancake Day (he knows that I like that kind of thing) . . . 30 minutes later he showed up at my work with scrambled eggs and pancakes.  What a great way to start the day!
I am wearing . . . jeans and a Santa Clara University t-shirt (College Day at school).
I am creating . . . a clean and organized craft room . . . it looks wonderful!  Now it’s time to create something.  Nearly done with a doll that I thought would have been finished ages ago.
I am going . . . to probably drink way too much coffee today.  J
I am reading . . Fifty Shades Freed . . . I ended up reading this whole series.  It was better than I thought it was going to be when I started the first book. I don't think I will bother watching the movie when it comes out.
I am hoping . . . to get out some St. Patrick’s Day decorations tonight.
I am hearing . . . nothing – I found a nice quiet place to enjoy my lunch break.
Around the house . . . cleaning out!

One of my favorite things . . . the new work table that I got for my craft room.  (which is what caused me to completely clean and reorganize that room)
A few plans for the rest of the week . . . write a story for my newest doll, cut out some more dolls,

From my picture journal . . . I haven't posted much this week - life has been busy . . . so just some random photos from a very busy week.  But not too busy to at least snap of few pictures of things that caught my eye.
