eating a rainbow . . .

This is my mom's favorite meal.
She tells me - she could eat it every night.
I tell her it's "magic".
Then she just laughs and shakes her head at me.

HAPPY MONDAY!

every little thing she does is magic . . .

I have spent a good part of my life being the only girl . . .
I have two brothers . . . I have two sons.
Then God blessed me by bringing Jennifer and Sarah into my life . . .
. . . and now I have these amazing girls.
They are unique . . . and beautiful . . . and full of magic.
Little girls definitely are full of magic.  If you don't believe it . . . just spend some time with one.

spring magic . . .

"People from a planet without flowers
would think we must be mad with joy
the whole time to have such things about us."
~ Iris Murdoch, A Fairly Honourable Defeat

"It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.
And when you've got it, you want . . .
oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want,
but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
~ Mark Twain

Do I ever have spring fever!  I try to get a few miles walking and running in during my lunch break . . . and today I just wanted to keep going.
I probably posted the same thing last year
. . . but Spring never fails to work it's magic.
Oh, I do believe in magic . . . and I do believe there must be a fairy of some sort in this last picture - sitting in that tree soaking up the sunshine.
At least I like to think there is . . . life is just way more fun when you believe in MAGIC!

photo challenge 1/29/16 . . . inspiration

This is not a very good picture . . . but there is something about this tree lit up at night that I just love.  The picture below was taken earlier this month - I may have even posted it already.
It reminds me that there is magic in this world . . . and if we look for it we can be inspired by that magic every single day.

Shabby Charlotte Doll - Cosetta

I am finally posting photos of my latest little Shabby Charlotte doll.  I have had her finished - just haven't had the time to take pictures.  A little doll full of magic . . . and who believes in love . . . that's my kind of doll.  :)  I hope to have her listed on my Etsy shop later today.

Cosetta is a special little voodoo doll – in that she uses her magic for good rather than for hurting people.  Her favorite thing to do with her magic is to help people fall in love.  She always carries a little bit of love potion in her bag . . . just in case she sees someone who needs a little push.  Somehow . . . she just seems to know who is supposed to fall in love with each other.  She likes strong coffee, she starts every day with a smile on her face, and she believes a good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything.  Keep this little doll nearby . . . and you may find that her magic rubs off on you.

Magic . . .

This was on a take out bag from a restaurant where we went to lunch awhile back.  If I remember right Richard pointed it out to me.  He is always pointing out little things that he knows I will like - (I love that!)  I am very passionate about recycling and taking care of the earth . . . I also have this romantic, naive notion about magic . . . so I had to keep this paper bag.  It has been flying around my craft room for awhile and I saw it last night and decided I had to make a paper crane out of it.  If I recycled the bag into a paper crane . . . then I guess that would make it a magic crane!!!  Now I just have to decide what I should do with my magic crane.

Magic

"That's the thing about magic.  You've got to know it's still here, all around us, or it just stays invisible."
                                         ~ Charles De Lint
Already some of my sunflowers are starting to look a little spent, but I still see and feel their magic.  The magic is always there . . .
