photo challenge 1/31/16 . . . self

Just be yourself.
Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed,
quirky, weird, beautiful, and magical person that you are.
My final post for my January Photo Challenge.  It has been fun and gave my creative side the little bit of a kick start that it needed.  I like messing around with photo collages . . . just a simple one of me and some of the things that I like.  Clare, Sis, Mom, Planet, Clare Helen, Amma  . . . whatever name I go by - it's still me.  From baby to nearly 57 years old - it's still me.
I've changed a lot over the years - its' still me.
Sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder where that young person went . . . but it's still me.
I can say I lost myself a few times along the way . . . but not for long.
I have learned that I have to be true to myself . . .
I just have to be me.

catch up . . .

I've gotten a little behind on my photo challenge . . . so time to play catch up.

 Photo Challenge for 3/20 . . . vintage
I went with some vintage photos . . . the first one is of me - I am guessing around the age of one and the second photo was taken in the early to mid 70's.  I marched in a drum corps for 5 years . . . one of the best experiences of my life.  I love photos from the 70's.

 Photo Challenge for 3/21 . . . flowers
One of my roses that Luke picked today . . . and some water color flowers I did while I was painting with Charlotte this afternoon.  I like how they look . . . I think I will detail them a little more and use them in my journal.

It was a beautiful day today . . . a perfect day for tennis, flip flops, and green toe nails.  I think the color of the day had to be green.
Simple Saturday!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

yesterday's bag check . . .

Yesterday's post today . . .
March Photo Challenge - March 6th - Bag Check
Notebook, journal, pens, origami paper, paper cranes, book, Tylenol, quotes, sewing stuff, make-up bag, small calendar, quotes, little bag of odds and ends stuff . . .
The contents of this bag changes a little depending on what I am working on or doing.  Sometimes you will find a doll, paint, a cribbage board, beads . . .
When we watch tennis on TV . . . I love when they do the players bag checks.  So I am dumping out the contents of my tennis bag as well.
I guess I really don't need that many headbands or dampeners . . .
OK - I do need that many dampeners - they are just fun!
The sunscreen is a must.  I usually have quite a large bottle.  I guess with the weather getting nicer it is time to buy a new one.

weekend stuff . . .

This actually turned out a little better than I thought it was going to.  I took butcher paper and taped it together to form a square 9' by 9'.  then crawled around on the floor to fold it.  My biggest concern was that the paper would rip and I would have to start over . . . but I managed to get it folded.  The paper is not heavy enough to support it - so I had to reinforce with with some dowels.  It still doesn't stand up - but I think if I hang it - it will look great.  Now I just have to find a place to hang it up so I can get some good pictures.  Oh, the quotes I could write on this crane . . .

Us . . .

I fold paper cranes . . . he strings his tennis racquet.  (he is so excited!)
I sit and read . . . he yells at the TV watching sports.
I pile on the blankets . . . he sleeps with only the sheet.
I like to stay up late . . . he goes to bed early.
I grew up in a small town in Iowa . . . him - a city in California.
. . . somehow we always seem to make it work.

Richard's new toy . . .

Richard has been wanting to string his own racquets for awhile and has been waiting for this stringing machine to be delivered all week.  What a surprise when it was delivered tonight at 8:00.  I love when he gets excited about stuff like this.  New toys are always fun!

Good Sunday!

 .

It was a good Sunday.  Richard and I hit some tennis balls . . . followed by lunch.  I love going out and hitting when it is hot like today.  It probably isn't the most sensible thing to do when the temperature reaches triple digits . . . but always fun and I really needed to get out and run today.
I also took a nap, something I rarely do . . . and now I find myself wide awake after midnight . . . a late night movie, I stuffed a couple of doll bodies, doodled in my journal . . . I really should go to bed.
I actually have to get up early in the morning.  I have a feeling that I may be regretting my late night . . . there's always coffee!
