EEK!

Twice a year I participate in a Zombie Doll Swap with other women from around the country . . .  who also like everything Halloween and things that are a little weird. It is organized by a teacher in Louisiana.  Making a doll and getting a package ready is fun . . . waiting for your package to arrive is even more fun.  This is a talented group of women!
This Fall the theme of the swap was The Nightmare Before Christmas.
This is the contents of the package I received this year from Jill.  She took a set of nesting dolls and repainted them as characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas!  How cute are they!

That all I ever wanted was to bring them something great! Why does nothing ever turn out like it should? Well, what the heck! I went and did my best. And, by God, I've really tasted something swell. And for a moment, why, I ever touched the sky. And at least I've left some stories they can tell, I did. And for the first time since, I don't remember when, I feel just like my old bony self again.

Happy October . . .

I cannot help myself when it comes to decorating for Halloween.
I thought I would share some of the decorations I have out this year.
I am not sure where this obsession with Halloween came from . . . but it just keeps growing.

HAPPY OCTOBER!

getting ready for October

So I attended a "paint night" back in June.  Jennifer picked the painting that we would do and picked this one because she knows I like skeletons.  I had a blast . . . but didn't honestly know what I was going to do with a purple skeleton painting.  I figured I would maybe use it as a Halloween decoration.  So I decided to do this to it . . . I still can't say I like my painting - but I like it a lot better this way.  One of the things I like most about decorating for Halloween - is that anything goes.  It doesn't have to be perfect or elegant . . . or even make sense.  I think the color of the flowers really make this much more fun . . . and perfect for next month!  I can't wait to start decorating for October!

October is just FUN!

"Coloring outside the lines is a fine art."

I have these two little skeletons posed in a few other pictures as well . . . but this one is my favorite.  What I love most about my skeleton pictures . . . Luke helping (enthusiastically - once I convinced him to help me) and Charlotte, who seemed to think this was all very normal, but then I guess maybe this is part of our normal.  Richard just smiles and shakes his head.  :)
