I thought this little dollar store pumpkin guy could use a little ooola . . . so I made him a hat and added a little glitter. He looks so much happier now sitting on his sparkling boxes. Happy Halloween!

Movie NIght
We set up a projector and screen and watched movies outside tonight . . . a little on the chilly side - but so much fun. The best part . . . playing with my shadow before we started the movie.
PEACE!
Saturday Projects
Some squiggly eyes (I love squiggly eyes!) . . .
some scored and laminated card stock . . .
a spooky little smile . . .
. . . folded, tied with pretty ribbon, and filled with toys and treats!
Perfect little gifts for Lily, Owen, and Charlotte . . . for our pumpkin carving night.
I made Charlotte some orange bandana pants today . . . and cut out some purple and some Halloween print one also.
. . . and I couldn't pass these up. They were in the dollar section at Target - so probably some pretty lousy nail polish . . . but I think they're great! Yes, even the bathroom gets a touch of Halloween.
a little more halloween
I still don't have my decorations up outside . . . hopefully today. As much as I like Halloween - you would think I would have everything up the first week in October. When we lived in our old house I did - I guess because the kids were little and they got so excited about helping, but now as long as I have something out for Halloween night - I'm happy. But I can't get enough of all the Halloween sparkle inside.
I have a long list of things I want to do today . . . and things I have to do (I don't like that list as much). I think I better start with a pot of coffee . . .

magic . . .
I got playing with pictures on my phone today . . . that got me thinking about magic. Halloween and Fall seem to cast sort of a spell on me . . . for lack of any other way to describe it. I seem to be able to find joy in the littlest things . . . and that to me is a special sort of magic.
One of my favorite lines from a movie . . . (I have so many of them), is from "Sleepless is Seattle" - when Tom Hank's character (Sam Baldwin) tells Dr. Marcia Fieldstone how he knew he was supposed to be with his wife.
"Well, it was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together... and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home... only to no home I'd ever known... I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like... magic."
I love that movie - but then I am a hopeless romantic . . . I may have to watch it tonight. :)
I am definitely someone who believes in magic . . . Do you?
Trick or Treat . . . Flashback Friday
Trick or Treat!
. . . and why are we in a cemetery at night Amy? :)
It's October - wishing I was back in Iowa . . .
Happy Friday!

Good Morning!
One of my little pleasures is my morning cup of coffee . . . (or sometimes tea.) I guess all my coffee mugs play into that too. I'm not sure why I started using a different mug each day - but they are fun . . . and in the words of Dr. Seuss - "Fun is Good!" . . . and I find that each morning sitting here in the quiet with my morning cup of coffee, I feel the hopefulness of a new day. It doesn't matter what happened yesterday - or what is going to happen tomorrow . . . facing a new day always feels a little hopeful to me.
Not so fun . . . the baseball game last night. I won't even type the score - it was not pretty for the Cardinals - but the same thing applies . . .
"Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday's success or put its failures behind and start over again. That's the way life is, with a new game every day, and that's the way baseball is." ~ Bob Feller

EEK . . .
Luke's doodles . . . he picked up a marker and three minutes later this was on the paper. I love when he draws . . .
Honestly . . . what am I going to post about once Halloween is over and all these cute glittering decorations are put away?
Although, I did get a wonderful magazine yesterday full of Christmas ideas . . . I think I need to buy more glitter. :)

glitter and lights . . .
Playing with glitter and lights tonight. This picture doesn't really show how glittery these little pumpkins are . . . they turned out really cute. They need something else - but not sure what I am going to do with them yet.
Another simple idea . . . Halloween lights in a glass pumpkin jar. I probably need to find my glittery spiders and put them in the jar . . .
B is for . . . .
B is for . . . Beads for Abbie.
My run happened to take me by the bead store today, so I stopped in and picked out some beads for Abbie's necklaces.
Be is for . . . Button ring.
I spotted this last night and had to wear it today . . . something just too cute about a plastic button ring. I think I need to make some of these. :)
Today . . .
Outside my window . . . It is still dark - I like being up early this time of year.
I am thinking . . . There are so many things I want to be doing at home. I would rather be there than at work today
I am thankful for . . . Coffee - I stayed up way too late last night.
From the kitchen . . . scrambled eggs and Canadian bacon (Richard made me breakfast this morning.)

I am wearing . . . a orange lace tunic with black leggings - feeling in a Halloween mood - (of course!)
I am creating . . . glittering pumpkins and going to start a new Shabby Charlotte doll.
I am going . . . to run at lunch today.
I am reading . . . Dead Until Dark (not sure why I started it but appropriate for October.)
I am hoping . . . that someone very dear to me finds the answers they need.
I am hearing . . . my boss in the back room making coffee . . .
Around the house . . . (the office) – people are starting to come to work. I like how the office wakes up slowly . . . the quiet, early morning routine of people who get her early - which eventually turns into the morning chaos of an elementary school office.
One of my favorite things . . . the gourd that I painted and glittered last night - it really did turn out pretty for something so simple.
A few plans for the rest of the week . . . a trip to the pumpkin patch, more Halloween decorations, some tennis, and more glitter . . .

Halloween glitter . . .
An old gourd, some paint and glitter, and a scrap of black lace . . . a very simple and very pretty Halloween decoration.
When in doubt . . . just add glitter!
Mirror, Mirror . . .
Old idea - but so cute . . . I have been wanting to do this for sometime. We finally got around to taking the tennis racquet's in to have the mirrors cut - then since it was a friend doing it . . . it seemed to take a little longer to get that part done. So they are finally up. I love them . . . and even more so because they are made from Richard's old wood racquets. We saw so many old racquets at the junk fair yesterday . . . I probably should have bought some of them . . . these would make great gifts for some of our friends.

Sunday Funday!
Charlotte ready to go . . . she spent the afternoon with Grandpa and Grandma at the "Glorious Junk Days".
We didn't really see anything we had to have . . . but got some good ideas for refurbishing old furniture. It was fun to just walk around and take Charlotte out. I did find some charms to use on my dolls.
Love You . . .
We took her to lunch . . . and then home to have her feet painted with mom and dad. :)
Abbie saw this on Pinterest . . . really a cute idea - she is going to make some cards out of them.
I think she is going to make little ghosts out of the white ones.
Sunday Funday!
