Pinterest makes me hungry . . .

Due to some tests that I am having done tomorrow I have not been able to eat much today.  So what do I do . . . get on Pinterest and start looking at food and recipes.  I'm not sure if that was such a good idea - since I am so hungry, but it is always fun to try new recipes.  These are the ones that I may have to try soon.  If any of them are any good - I will share the links.
Lemon Garlic Chicken - in a crock pot.
Cucumber Tomato Feta Salad
Spinach & Feta Stuffed Chicken Breasts
Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sliders
BBQ Chicken Salad
I also need to make some of these.  A dear friend gave me an ornament like this for my birthday this past week - but it only had one crane hanging in it.  I sort of like this idea better.  I have some beautiful small origami paper from Japan that would be perfect.

Paper Crane . . .

One of the reasons I love making paper cranes is the beautiful paper.  I received some beautiful paper as a birthday gift.  I can't wait to fold some more cranes . . . but wanted to show off this one . . . the paper is almost like fabric . . . simply beautiful!

sweethearts and hearts for today . . .

French Toast tastes even better . . . when made with love.

Yesterday's heart . . . today

We went to eat sushi for my birthday . . . little did I know that they would sing "Happy Birthday" and bring me a wasabi heart? complete with candle.  lol . . . lunch was delicious.
I gave this crane to a young man who shares my birthday . . . he said he would put it on his desk at work.  :)

For Today . . .

For Today . . .
Outside my window . . . the clouds are starting to come in – hopefully more rain is on the way.
I am thinking . . . I am so glad it is Friday (with a long weekend ahead)
I am thankful for . . . life (I know some people who have had some very tragic things happen lately) – it makes me realize just how important it is to enjoy each day and to take care of the people we love.  Life can change in an instant.
From the kitchen . . . a little of everything from everyone (potluck at work today!)
I am wearing . . . jeans and a fluorescent sweatshirt (felt like being bright today)
I am creating . . . a Shabby Charlotte voodoo doll
I am going . . . to leave work completely behind me today and enjoy my long weekend.
I am reading . . nothing right now – I need to start a new book
I am hoping . . . it doesn’t rain so much that we can’t fit in some tennis this weekend.
I am hearing . . . laughter – from people I work with.
Around the house . . . (office) – It has been a somewhat quiet day . . . almost potluck time (it smells delicious)
One of my favorite things . . . my new coffee cup (a birthday gift from a friend)
A few plans for the rest of the week . . . (weekend) – celebrating my birthday . . . Sushi for lunch, and Stogie and Stout night at our favorite Italian restaurant.  Also . . . The Walking Dead starts up again on Sunday!
From my picture journal . . .

Today's heart (hearts) . . . . being silly at the grocery store.  I love when he acts like this.

Thursday stuff . . .

These trees on our campus usually bloom in the Spring.  Our temperatures had been so warm that we have blooms already.  We are finally getting a bit of Winter - so think our pretty tree won't be pretty for very long.  It is raining pretty good today . . . so I am glad I snapped this picture yesterday.   I didn't have my camera with me and had to use my phone . . . so you can't really see how pretty the blossoms are.  They have added beauty to February . . . even if it is short lived.

Today's snack . . . is today's heart!

February Hearts . . .

Where has my mind been . . . it is February and I usually post at least one photo of a heart each day during this month of love and romance.  I obviously am five days behind - so here's a quick catch up . . . baubles and beads from when I was working on my doll last night, a champagne cage chair (I just love those for some reason), a couple of doodles from my desk calendar, and some cute jeans that I noticed this morning.  OK - that's five and I am now on the lookout for more hearts.

Charlotte . . .

She makes me smile . . .

Shabby Charlotte doll - Cherie

I finally have my new doll ready to post.  It has taken me long enough.  She will be for sale on my Etsy shop in the next couple of days.
Cherie is a little doll with a big heart.  She believes that nothing is more important than the people she loves and she will do anything for them.  She likes thumbprint cookies, vanilla lattes, and good books that keep her up way past her bedtime.  She carries a little hand crocheted purse that holds three things – a star to remind her to always follow her dreams, a heart to remind her of all the people she loves, and a cross to remind her that no matter what happens she is never alone.

rainy day picture walk . . .

I spent my lunch hour taking a walk today.  I was hoping it would be raining - so I could just listen to the rain and enjoy, but the rain had let up.  As always when I go for a walk . . . I see what I can see.  Something usually catches my eye.  I had to smile when right before I got back to work I saw the chalk on the block wall . . . what could be better than
Peace ~ Love ~ Happiness.

Good Morning . . . good day!

I had hoped to have my doll done a few days ago . . . but I'm just letting life get in the way.  That's OK - because it's the good part of life, but I really had hoped to get more than just one doll made this month.  At least I worked on her a little bit last night.  I have her name picked out . . . and some ideas for her story - I just keep getting distracted.
I also folded some origami cranes.  I have a friend who teaches at an intermediate school and her classes are studying Japan.  Some of the kids in her two classes went to school where I work and they remembered me folding origami cranes with them when they were in 4th grade . . . so I told her I would fold enough cranes for the kids in her two classes.
We woke up to rain this morning.  I don't think it is supposed to amount to much, but we will take what we can get . . . we really need the rain.  I really like rainy days . . . today is going to be a good day!
Peace!

Homemade Pizza . . .

We made pizza for dinner last night . . . it turned out so good.  I had a Boboli pizza crust that I brushed with olive oil and put on a small amount of Alfredo sauce.  We then topped it with shredded chicken, fresh spinach, tomatoes, fresh garlic, red onion, mozzarella & Parmesan cheese and topped with jalapenos.  So tasty - that we felt that we had to give it a name.  "Garlic Monkey Pizza"

I am up to crane #411 with my crane project . . . slow, but I am making progress.  I am nearing the half way point.
