Thursday stuff . . .

These trees on our campus usually bloom in the Spring.  Our temperatures had been so warm that we have blooms already.  We are finally getting a bit of Winter - so think our pretty tree won't be pretty for very long.  It is raining pretty good today . . . so I am glad I snapped this picture yesterday.   I didn't have my camera with me and had to use my phone . . . so you can't really see how pretty the blossoms are.  They have added beauty to February . . . even if it is short lived.

Today's snack . . . is today's heart!

Peace, Love, Dance . . .

Jessica's magnetic sculptures from this week.  Put them all together  . . .

peace, love, patch

My favorite pair of shorts were started to rip in the back - so I took some time to patch them today . . . sort of just reinforcing them with a piece of fabric behind the denim and sewing over and over the area where they were starting to rip.
I decided to add a little embroidery - it made the patch a little more fun.
I had a favorite pair of jeans in high school - that my mom patched over and over again - until there were probably more patches than original jeans.  Years later she made me a bag out of those jeans . . . I am going to have to dig that bag out and use it one of these days.   I think I will also keep mending and embroidering on this pair of shorts as they continue to wear out and see how they end up.

onesie . . . twosie . . . three onesies!

These photos could be better - but I'm more interested in posting pics of these onesies today than taking the time on photos.  I know - I should take the time for both - but having too much fun with the onesies.
I hand embroidered around this star - but may take it out and use the machine like I did on the star and moon below.
What is the Lucky Charms jingle? . . . "Pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars,
green clovers."  I can't get that out of my head.  LOL
So I have blue moons and yellow stars . . . may just have to make a green clover.  I also want to do a tree and a peace sign.

love this onesie

I decided that the quilt that Abbie asked me to make needed little matching onesies.  I know I should be completing the quilt before starting these - but I had to try just one.  I haven't appliqued in such a long time - it was fun.  Tonight I am finishing up the quilt and hopefully will have time to make a couple more of these.  I want to do a star, moon, and a tree - oh and maybe a peace sign.  I may have to buy some more onesies.  I really need more hours in every day . . . but tomorrow is the last day of summer school - Then I will have some extra time!
Luke and Abbie had an appointment yesterday for an ultra-sound.  I haven't gotten copies of the pictures yet - but saw them.  Looks like Charlotte has some chubby cheeks.

Peace, Love, and the Planet

I have been terrible about posting regularly . . . I think I have been waiting to post about something I have made - waiting for some creativity to post about . . . I am getting frustrated that I do not devote more time to that part of my life - but it will happen.  For today - I am just going to post some of the pictures that have been piling up on my phone.
These paper hearts come from my friend Jessica . . .
My new favorite coffee mug that Richard got for me.  This little girl makes me smile!
Of course there are always pictures of Stella on my phone.  I was cleaning like a mad woman last week - and she found her way into everything I was doing.  She could not resist this empty bag on the table . . . she never can.
She eventually fell asleep and fell out of the bag - not too concerned about what was going on around her.
I found this wax for my hair.  I have seen this at Nordstroms (and what I think is way to expensive) - but found this at a discount store.  Love, Peace, and the Planet.  I had to buy it just for the label.  I will find some use for the container when I am done with it.  For anyone out there who doesn't know me very well - my nickname is Planet.  That goes back to the 80's and a song by the B52's - "Planet Claire"
Soup face . . .
 . . . and a place mat crane.
A cold drink from this weekend.  This tasted so good after playing tennis and visiting . . .
. . . the pigs at Fresno State.  Don't know why we decided to go look at the pigs.  We have been talking about taking Lily to the Fresno State Farm . . . and Richard decided to check it out while we were driving by.  Of course the first thing you notice is the smell . . . which actually smells so good to me (for awhile anyway).  I guess growing up in a small town in Iowa - then moving away - makes you like this smell.  I got out of the car and the first whiff reminded me of home.

Peace, Love, and the Planet!

little lost heart . . .

I'm always on the lookout for hearts.  I found this one when we went to play tennis . . . simply a little lost bead - but something special when you take time to notice it.  I had such a busy weekend - most of it doing the things that I had to do - and not much of the stuff I wanted to do.  Although I am extremely excited about getting my garage in order . . . and I did finish the second book of the Hunger Games series.  I believe Luke is still reading the third one and Jake and Abbie have finished the series.  What to read next???
Tonight I am going to make myself sit down and crochet!!!!

loves me . . . loves me knot . . .

Richard found this heart while putting up our new fence . . . and took a picture of it for me.
There has been a lot of stuff that life is made of keeping me busy these days . . . so haven't been posting much.  I have to be better about that.
Things such as . . .
It's a girl!
. . . and thumbs up to that.  I am going to be a grandma in September.  I really didn't care whether it was a boy or a girl - but now I know what to shop for . . . and every grandma to be knows how fun it is to shop for a girl!
Spring Break was wonderful.  I already posted that we spent a couple of days in San Francisco.  But Spring Break also included dying Easter Eggs with Lily.
 . . . and blue Lily fingers.
We spent a day at the zoo where Lils got to feed a giraffe.
Life through the life of a 3 year old is wonderful!
And today - Stella had an appointment with the vet . . . yes she was nervous.  She growled quite a bit and took a couple of swipes at him.  She had to show off her attitude of course.  She will have to spend the night - I think it will be harder on us than on Stella.

love grass

Jennifer sent me this picture today.  She said that she walks by this heart everyday . . . one of those small simple things that if you just take the time to notice - can make you smile.

hanging hearts

. . . . hanging hearts that our nurse hung up in her office.  Valentine decorations are the best . . . how can you not love a holiday that decorates with hearts.

Love and Coffee . . .

Love and coffee . . . just what I need this Monday morning.  It would have been so easy to stay in bed this morning.  I haven't had a Monday morning feel like this in a long time - but then maybe staying up til midnight doesn't help and then Jennifer sent me a text at 1:30 - Lily was up and miserable with what is probably an ear infection.  Yawwwnnn . . . I think it's going to be a long day.  : )

Football Hearts

I thought these hearts were more appropriate for Super Bowl Sunday.

daisy wheels

Candy Gram Hearts at school.  So there's my heart for the day . . . but it is really all about these cute socks at the bike shop.
This little yoga girl is my favorite . . . and the blue ones below - love the daisy tires.

I may just have to go back and get a pair of these.  Although I think spending $12 on a pair of socks seems ridiculous . . . I know they are fast dry, most durable, amazingly wonderful socks - but I just think they are cute and I can find cute socks for under $12 . . . but on the other hand - those daisy wheels are really cute.

random heart

This is the kind of heart that I love to find.  I noticed this while I was walking yesterday.  It was obviously done on purpose - but finding it by accident makes it fun.  That someone would take the time to do this makes me smile . . . . gotta find joy in the small stuff.

heart tea

I fixed Abbie a cup of tea the other night . . . dropped in a tea bag and gave her the cup . . . and it did this. I love finding hearts is unexpected places. : )

Lily's photo

Lily loves taking pictures with Jennifer's phone. This was the shirt she was wearing - thought it looked sort of cool. She must have incredible talent in her. : )

Peace, Love, and Butterflies?

Nayia's jeans . . . she is definitely a peace sign girl. I would have so worn these jeans when I was her age.
Hot soup at Ming's on Friday . . . with a hot oil sauce heart. So good!
And butterflies??? This is painted on the bathroom wall at Audie's -

So peace, love, and butterflies . . . have a great day!
