everyone needs a love monster . . .

"When is a monster not a monster?"
"Oh, when you love it!"
What a day . . . it was an incredibly busy day at work - the kind of day that when you finally take the time to look at the clock . . . it is nearly time to go home.  A day like that combined with the 10 hours of sleep that I had last night . . .  put me in a perfect "Clare Helen" mood!
The kind of day for love monsters . . . .
Tonight . . . I 'm baking a butterscotch pie (which included a flour fight with Charlotte),
putting together some Valentines,
and looking forward to Friday and a 3 day weekend!

photo challenge 1/30/16 . . . once upon a time

Once again please pardon all of the photos.  This prompt, "Once Upon A Time" seemed like a good excuse to walk through the antique stores yesterday.  I loved all the old Valentines.  I picked up a couple of them and found a birthday gift for a friend.
Once Upon A Time . . .
. . . two lovers sat on this love seat.
. . . a young mother sewed clothes for her new baby.
Once Upon A Time this was creepy . . .
and it still is!

Once Upon A Time . . . a young woman was invited to a wonderful party.
. . . she put this hat on her head and walked into the party feeling beautiful
and hoping to meet someone wonderful.
Once Upon A Time . . .
 . . . memories were captured.
 . . . gifts were given.

. . . and special Valentines were picked out for loved ones.

Once Upon A Time . . . someone made a phone call
. . . or typed a letter to someone they loved.
"Once upon a time there was a boy that loved a girl,
and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his
whole life answering."

thoughtful little surprise . . .

I love when I find fun little stuff on my desk.  It never hurts to start the day with something thoughtful that makes you smile.
If you know someone that you would like to make smile . . . do something for them today!
Happy Friday!

little black heart . . .

Another little button heart . . . just playing around today with some felt and buttons.
I have to make some red ones also, but I love the black and pink combination.

a little more glitter . . .

Just a few simple little projects . . . and I think there is glitter in every room in my house, but that's part of the fun.  I have a couple more glass pieces drying to use for St. Patrick's Day.  I especially like the little green picture frame.

Sweetheart . . .

I work with a woman . . . who is always making something fun.  Today's heart is a sample of what she is making for her daughter's class Valentines.  She is going to put them on small paper bags and fill them with treats.  She loves working with paper - and it sounded as if she may have just discovered rubber stamps,  It is fun to share ideas and talk about our projects.  We share the frustration of having more ideas than time . . . so we have decided that we should just turn the conference room in our office into a craft room.  Now there's an idea!

STOP . . . in the name of LOVE

Of course they are going to dress up today . . . .
STOP . . . in the name of LOVE!
If you know me . . . you know that I take great joy in simple little things . . . like cute cards and three simple words!
All you need is love . . . Love is all you need!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Glitter in progress . . .

It has been a busy, fun weekend.  I didn't get this little project done - but I thought at least I should play with glitter a little bit before I go to bed . . . and I needed to post a heart for today.

Weekend stuff

I found these wonderful printable paper strips at Allsorts
 I haven't sat and glued a paper chain together in years . . .
. . . and these little paper strips were just too cute not to use.
I find projects like this very therapeutic and when I'm done . . .
. . . I have a cute, happy paper chain to dress things up a bit for Valentine's Day.
A birthday card journal that I glued together this morning.  I just took all the cards and envelopes that people gave me for my birthday and used scrapbook paper to make them into a journal.
I thought this envelope made a great cover.

I made one of these a couple of years ago.  This way I can enjoy the cards again when I use the journal.  I use it for good thoughts, quotes, doodling . . . Only happy stuff goes into this journal.
