just because . . .

"I am learning to find JOY
right here in the mess of things."
                                                ~ mhn
I am pretty sure I was the cause of this stain on the driveway.  I get a little
sloppy sometimes when I am having fun with a project.
Then I hate that there are stains on the driveway.
Oh well . . . I will go with a fun project any day . . . and the stain turned out to be fun also
Richard sent me this the other day . . . just because!

GOOD THINGS TODAY . . .
Another rainy day
Flowers blooming everywhere
Logan giggling like only a one year old can giggle
Richard seeing the face in this stain . . .
doodling . . . sewing . . . reading
Schitt's Creek . . . I love shows that make me both laugh and cry
The creative mess that is still going strong in my house
. . . and not letting that mess bother me
Being able to stay in touch with my family and friends through this "lock down"
My orchid is getting ready to bloom

Derby has been delivered . . .

Once again I participated in Yarnigras' Zombie Doll Swap
Now that Derby has been delivered . . . I can post picture of her.
This year we had to make a miniature zombie.  I really need to make
some more of these little dolls.
Derby is a unique little zombie . . . smaller than most.
She is fun loving, competitive, kind, and fun to be around.
When she is not wandering around looking for delicious humans
. . . you will find her skating and spending time with the
people she cares about.
They don’t seem to mind that she is a zombie . . .
. . . they just love her for who she is!
Derby doesn’t mind being a zombie . . . if she gets knocked down,
she simply gets back up and keeps going.
Be her friend and she will roll with you until her wheels fall off.
Derby with the other items that went along with her in the
Zombie Doll Swap.
Sometimes little zombie dolls like to hide out . . .
. . . what better hideout than a black lace bag.

Deuce . . .

I swear he poses . . . and then just waits for me to get my camera
and snap a few pictures.

Trick or Treat

Once we noticed what a great picture this would make . . . I hoped he wouldn't move as I picked up my phone and moved close enough to take a picture.  He not only didn't move . . . he turned his head a couple different times and actually seemed to pose for me.
So we have decided he can read, he knew this would be a great place to pose for a picture
in October, and he is the greatest cat ever!    :)

zombie doll is ready to travel . . .

I finished my zombie doll for the Zombie Doll Swap last night.  Nothing like the last minute . . . since I have to ship my package by Saturday.  I really like how the doll turned out, but don't want to post any pictures until the package is received.

doll bodies and sebastion . . .

What a wonderful weekend, but then weekends are always wonderful
. . . .just because they are weekends.
I wrote doll stories . . . made doll bodies . . . had "rainy day" pizza with Charlotte . . . and champagne with Sarah.  We went to lunch and played cribbage . . . went to dinner with friends . . . worked on projects . . . and watched The Walking Dead.
We made the most of our time and wasted time . . .

little black heart . . .

Another little button heart . . . just playing around today with some felt and buttons.
I have to make some red ones also, but I love the black and pink combination.

It's October . . .

When a three year old helps you with Halloween decorations . . . small light covers become very cool finger tips . . .
. . . and you may turn around and find something like this standing behind you.  I actually jumped when I turned and saw her.  She found it quite funny that she scared me.
Little Halloween creatures like this are simply the best little creatures to decorate with.
. . . only 11 more days!
I'm so glad I live in a world
where there are Octobers.

skeletons in the house . . .

I do not know what it is with me and skeletons . . . they are just so much fun to decorate with.
I especially like this little one wearing black lace.  Charlotte named her Marie . . . I'm not sure why, but it fits.  I love getting ready for Halloween.  It is such an easy holiday to decorate for . . . anything goes and a simple little $2 skeleton works perfectly.

Shabby Charlotte Doll . . . Mimi

I made a new little Halloween doll this week, as well as finishing my "primitive zombie" for the zombie doll swap that I joined.  I can't wait to post pictures of the little zombie doll that I am sending to Louisianan in a few days.I finally got around to making a different doll body . . . and I love how the little zombie turned out.  I am going to hate to see her go . . . but I think she is going to someone who likes little zombie dolls as much as I do.  :)
Mimi is for sale in my ETSY shop

Mimi is a clever little witch.  She likes getting up early . . . right before the sun comes up just to enjoy watching the new day begin.   Her head is always full of ideas and she doesn’t like wasting even one minute when there are so many things she wants to do.  She likes marigolds and hot tea sweetened with honey.
Her favorite color is black and she loves Halloween.
Her specialty is “love potions” . . . because she is just naturally good at making them.
She tries to find some joy in every day and believes that there is a little bit of magic in everything . . .  if you just take the time to notice.

today's photo challenge . . . Superstition

if you know how to make friends with strange cats.
