Life is good . . .

 My birthday crane!
Avery's first visit to the zoo.
Birthday wishes . . . .
The kind of silliness that makes you smile . . . and touches your heart.
An eye popping zombie toy . . . because my desk needed one.
(Some people just get me.)
Getting a whole bunch of wishes from Charlotte!

everyone needs a love monster . . .

"When is a monster not a monster?"
"Oh, when you love it!"
What a day . . . it was an incredibly busy day at work - the kind of day that when you finally take the time to look at the clock . . . it is nearly time to go home.  A day like that combined with the 10 hours of sleep that I had last night . . .  put me in a perfect "Clare Helen" mood!
The kind of day for love monsters . . . .
Tonight . . . I 'm baking a butterscotch pie (which included a flour fight with Charlotte),
putting together some Valentines,
and looking forward to Friday and a 3 day weekend!

love . . . pink . . . a paper crane . . . silly girls

Today there was time for crocheting . . . and being silly.
There is nothing quite like a couple of silly little girls.

we bought a dragon . . .

Yes, he is in the truck on the way to our house.  Now . . . where are we going to put him?
Also . . . he needs a name.
I have to laugh - because when I say that to people almost everyone starts coming up with names or get on their phones and start searching for name ideas.
It isn't like I am really into dragons, but I just liked this the way this guy looked.
Sometimes when something speaks to you . . . you just have to listen.
 I can already see the look on Jacob's face . . .

family . . .

I'm not really sure what I am going to do with all of them yet . . . but I just kept finding them and before I knew it I had a whole family.  I had the two larger skeletons that I bought last year.  Ashley brought me a small one the other day - (doll size in the photo).  I found the dog a couple of weeks ago . . . and then the other night I saw the cat at bird.  I figured since I had all of that - I may as well buy the two smaller ones and make a family.  I have no idea why I find them to be so much fun.
Now . . . . what to do with them.,  :)
"There is something about a closet that makes a skeleton terribly restless."  ~ John Barrymore

What did the skeleton say to the bartender?
I'll have two beers and a mop.

Why didn't the skeleton go to see a scary movie?
He didn't have the guts.

today . . .

Outside my window . . . the sun is coming up – just about ready to shine through the window
I am thinking . . . that with the amount of work I have today – the day should fly by.
I am thankful for . . . all my kids!
From the kitchen . . . oatmeal and coffee

I am wearing . . . a black wrap dress
I am creating . . . having fun with my art journal these days
I am going . . . to have a great day!
I am reading . . . The Happiness Project - by Gretchin Rubin
I am hoping . . .  to get some good news today!
I am hearing . . . the AC just kicked on . . . it’s going to be another hot day.
Around the office . . . quiet (I’m here early – so all alone) – and tons of work to do.  I love the start of a new school year!
One of my favorite things . . . origami paper
A few plans for the rest of the week . . . just making the most of each day!
From my picture journal . . .

Charlotte's rubber stamps . . . .
. . . and inky fingers.  She is very much into stamping and drawing these days.

At least I made him laugh!

random Saturday stuff . . .

I am pretty sure I have mentioned in previous posts how much I dislike boring tissue boxes . . . this is just a thing with me.  I will never forget the look on Richard's face when he was going to the store and I told him not to get tissue in an ugly box.  (I love that face . . . when he is completely baffled by how I think).  So when I see a tissue box that I like - well . . . had to buy it and have to post about it.
I saw quite a bit of that face Richard makes while we were playing tennis today . . .
. . . when I stopped hitting to take a picture of this heart shaped leaf that I saw on the court . . .
. . . and when I changed my dampner to match my fingernails.  He isn't quite so sure about my nails . . . but he does like my new dampner.  He also always tries to buy tissue in a box that he thinks I will like.  There is something to be said about a man who does things like that for you . . . just because he knows you like it.

relax and be silly . . .

When you have one of those days - like today . . take some time to relax and be silly . . . it can't hurt, and sometimes it really helps.

just because . . .

I am so busy at work . . . and I have some pictures of what we are dealing with at work - getting ready for the kids to start back to school after some major construction/modernization.  I will post some of those later today.  I just needed to put a little silliness on here today - just because.

Last Day of School . . .

Our wonderful crossing guards on the last day of school.  Horns were honking, children were crossing . . . safety first, but a little fun never hurts.  Love these amazing ladies.
They even decorated the bushes.
Here's to another great school year!  This one went by so fast, I guess what they say is true . . . Time flies when you are having fun!
The last day of school is always a little combination of relief, excitement,  and sadness.  Some of our kids and staff will not be returning . . . The youngest of our students are absolutely priceless performing at their end of the year assemblies . . . there are field trips, read & feeds, parties, and sprinkler runs . . . summer vacation is finally here!

Little Miss Bandanna Pants . . .

Charlotte doesn't want to sit still long enough to have her picture taken . . . this is the best I could get of her in her bandanna pants.  Her t-shirt reads . . . GET THE SILLIES OUT . . . love that!
Bandanna pants are the best for getting your sillies out!

A little more magic

As far as I am concerned  - the pictures speak for themselves  . . . Magic!
OK, I may be a little biased when it comes to this little Lily Bug.  I was blessed 22 years ago when I had the opportunity to baby sit for her mother and aunt . . . little did I know that this little bug would be such a big part of our lives.  Lily . . . I LOVE YOUR FACE!
