Charlotte's Ornaments

The light in a child's eyes is all it takes
to make Christmas a magical time of year.

Grandpa came home with some Christmas ornaments for Charlotte to paint.
She takes her painting very seriously . . . (that is until she starts mixing colors.)
Then it is all about the mixing rather than the painting.  But she did get the ornaments painted and insisted that they stay on the tree at our house.
I recently split up the ornaments that we had on the tree when my kids were growing up . . . giving each of the boys the ornaments that were theirs and that I though they would like.   so I guess it is time to start a new collection.
She makes me smile!

Zombie Doll Swap . . . HATTER

My zombie doll was received - so I am able to post pictures of the doll I sent to Trisha!
This doll was so much fun to make and I love how he turned out.
Along with all his goodies . . . he now resides in New York.
Thank you Valerie at Yarnigras Swapper Spot for putting this swap together.
This is my second year participating . . . I am looking forward to another swap next year!

As far as zombies go, Hatter is very friendly . . .
but more than a little bonkers!
He loves tea, and never goes anywhere without his hat.
Hatter has been known to be very charming . . . especially with people he knows and
when attending tea parties.  Although, his obsession with tea and tea parties
may also set him off.  Then you may see is “mad”, crazy, eccentric side.
Yep . . . completely off his rocker.
Enjoy this little zombie doll.  He may be entirely bonkers,
but I’ll tell you a secret . . . All the best people are.

wandering with Lily , , ,

I picked up Lily yesterday and what a great afternoon.
Walking . . . frozen yogurt . . . that park . . . her chatting about everything . . . drawing . . .
popcorn and root beer when we got home . . . it was a good day!
PEACE ~ LOVE ~ LILY

just because . . .

Yesterday was simply a fun day.
Flowers, polka dots, doodles . . . little stuff that inspired me.
Inspiration is everywhere if you just take the time to notice.

Then there was Charlotte. . . who seemed to think painting her face at preschool was a good idea.
She was as wound up and silly as she could get last night.  Grandpa had gotten her some strawberry ice cream for dessert . . . maybe that was why.
She told him that the ice cream must have made her crazy.

messy hair . . .

I know it's not perfect, but it's life.
Life is messy sometimes.
 ~ Grey's Anatomy

Lily saw this little heart sitting on my desk this morning.  I had made it back in February when I was messing around with some fimo clay.  She told me we needed to take a picture . . . and then put it in her hands.  I love that she had that idea . . .
She isn't at all happy with her hair in the photo . . . I guess we should have taken time to fix that, but sometimes your hair is just messy.  In years to come we won't remember her hair being messy, but we will remember her wanting to take a picture, taking the time to do just that, and the wonderful time we spend together each morning.
Happy Tuesday!

enjoy the process . . .

I am rearranging every room in my house, picking out paint colors,  playing in my journal,
drawing. dancing, and doing make-up with Charlotte . . .
My house is disaster . . . but I am enjoying the process.
