Shabby Charlotte Doll - Maurita

 She’s a little dark . . . a little creepy . . .
. . . and completely lovable.

photo challenge 1/30/16 . . . once upon a time

Once again please pardon all of the photos.  This prompt, "Once Upon A Time" seemed like a good excuse to walk through the antique stores yesterday.  I loved all the old Valentines.  I picked up a couple of them and found a birthday gift for a friend.
Once Upon A Time . . .
. . . two lovers sat on this love seat.
. . . a young mother sewed clothes for her new baby.
Once Upon A Time this was creepy . . .
and it still is!

Once Upon A Time . . . a young woman was invited to a wonderful party.
. . . she put this hat on her head and walked into the party feeling beautiful
and hoping to meet someone wonderful.
Once Upon A Time . . .
 . . . memories were captured.
 . . . gifts were given.

. . . and special Valentines were picked out for loved ones.

Once Upon A Time . . . someone made a phone call
. . . or typed a letter to someone they loved.
"Once upon a time there was a boy that loved a girl,
and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his
whole life answering."

just what I needed . . .

I have to spend at least one day wandering around Old Town just seeing what I can see.  It is my favorite kind of Christmas shopping . . . no hurrying, no lines, not really sure what I am going to find.  It was a rainy, blustery afternoon . . . perfect for putting me in the Christmas spirit.  I found a couple of gifts, enjoyed a hot cup of coffee and bought myself a fun new beanie.  Richard and I met up for dinner when I was finished.  Just what a needed a few days before Christmas.

yesterday was fun!

"Do what makes you happy,
be with who makes you smile,
laugh as much as you breathe,
and love as long as you live.
~ Rachel Ann Nunes
We had a couple of hours to waste yesterday . . . so spent it walking around Old Town.
For some reason . . . I really like this.  I especially like his chipped up blue paint.   If I wasn't in the process of cleaning out and getting rid of stuff, I may have even bought it.  The tag said it was a gargoyle . . . but I think it looks more like a dragon.  One grumpy dragon to say the least - but I like the way he looks.  In fact - I am thinking I should go back and get him . . .
. . . and this old Cleveland Indians button for Jake.
Afterwards I thought it would be fun to use in a bow on a gift for him.
Do what makes you happy!

He is always up for hat photos . . .
. . . and I'm always up for taking pictures of him in hats!
Be with who makes you smile!
Sometime I have inside jokes with myself . . .
. . . and Ursula just makes me laugh.
Laugh as much as you breathe!

. . . and love as long as you live!
