Skeleton & Elf ornaments . . .

I found this little Elf ornament at Jo Ann's the other day . . . so had to buy a few of them and put them together with some skeleton ornaments.
I think I am going to have to decorate a small Skeleton and Elf tree this year.
My Skeleton and Elf tradition starts Friday.
 It's silly . . . all in fun . . . and I have a lot of fun coming up with ideas.
Follow along here or on Instagram or Facebook.
Here's to a great Tuesday
and a very fun day!

little shabby charlotte doll . . .

“The doll making journey begins
decades before you even know it, by
gathering a lifetime of seemingly unrelated skills,
which one day collide,
causing complete and total harmony!”
― Gayle Wray
I'm finally posting pictures of  the latest doll that I finished.  She was created from a drawing that Lily made.  She is only about 7 inches tall and has the skinniest little legs . . .
. . . and the cutest little bloomers under her skirt.
Not exactly like her drawing . . . but close enough to make Lily smile.
Fun little doll for a special little girl in my life!

a butterfly and some ornaments . . .

There was a very unique butterfly in my yard this week.
One of a kind . . . very colorful . . . and prettier than any butterfly I have ever seen.
I think this is the beginning of what is going to be my Bohemian Christmas tree this year.
I have a lot of pom poms to make . . . and ideas for other ornaments . . . and a week to get enough done to fill up a good sized tree.  Wish me luck.
I am going to use these God's Eyes, pom poms. some painted sticks, tassels, paper cranes (because I have a lot of them).  Any other ideas are welcome.
I should have taken a picture of bits of yarn all over my floor . . . it's only going to get worse.

It's November?

It's November . . . and I'm starting to get ready for Christmas, but I guess I have rubbed off on this guy over the years . . . there are still skeletons lurking about.

A day with Avery . . . Best Day Ever . . .

I watched my youngest granddaughter Avery over my Thanksgiving break.
The day started off with crazy hair and a big bear . . . .
 . . . being a unicorn was next . . .
. . . sleeping . . .
. . . SMILING . . .
BEST DAY EVER!

some leftover Halloween weirdness . . .

To remember who you are,
you need to forget what they told you to be.

 . . . or maybe some "pre" Skeleton & Elf fun.   :)

It has been a random couple of weeks . . . days are busy and going in every different direction.  I am enjoying time spent with my mom . . . getting just a little bit of time to work on dolls . . . enjoying my beautiful granddaughters . . . reading . . . working . . . playing . . .
Some things are really really good . . . some things not so good, but then life is like that.
I'm feeling silly . . . yet serious, but then I'm like that.

Halloween 2017

This is why I love Halloween . . .

. . . because I have a Mom who will dress up like a witch.
. . . because these kids just make life amazing!
. . . because there is nothing cuter to me than a 7 month old Minnie Mouse.
. . . and because Cinderella comes with her own fairy godmother and Jaq.
When you love what you have,
you have everything you need.

new little Shabby Charlotte doll . . .

I finished this doll yesterday.  There is just something about her that makes me smile.
Maybe it's her skinny little legs . . . or her crazy red hair . . . or her simple smile . . .
Whatever it is - I just like how she turned out.
I made this doll for a little girl who asked if I could make a doll that looked like her drawing.  It isn't exact, but close enough.  Her mother had bought a couple of dolls from me a few years ago for her and her sister . . . so she was aware that I make dolls and since she has been asking me about it for two weeks,  I couldn't wait to give it to her this morning.  I wish I had a picture of the smile on her face when she opened the package.  This was fun to do.  Lily also drew a picture that I am turning into another little doll . . . she wants brown and blue hair????  I can't wait to get started.

Happy Friday . . .

Be you.
The world will adjust.
This week has been busy with birthdays and appointments . . . and it seemed to fly by.
I'm trying to get five doll bodies ready to go, but this is far as I got.  I am hoping to make a little  more progress this weekend.  I really need more hours in each day.
I think these dolls are going to be cute . . . I love their skinny little legs.
I am making them for a couple of little girls.  They each drew me a picture of what they wanted their doll to look like.
It's going to be fun to get into the details and see if I can make them look like their drawings.
Happy Friday!

doll bodies and monsters . . .

I am working on getting these doll bodies stuffed.  I like when that part is done and I can start doing the fun stuff with them.  Although last night I got side tracked . . .
I wanted to make Avery a monster crinkle toy . . . then ended up decorating a onesie to match.
I hadn't planned on making the onesie.  I may have gone with different colors . . . but I think it turned out cute.  I think I am going to have to take all of those ribbons and make a matching bow.

You never know what you are going to find going out the back way . . .

Zombie Bride . . .

For the past three years I have been part of a zombie doll swap.
My kind of swap!
I was so excited yesterday when I found a package in my mailbox.
What a fabulous Zombie Bride Debbie made!
And these wonderful pumpkin heads . . . also made by Debbie
My family thinks she a little creepy . . . LOL!
I think she is a lovely zombie bride . . .
 . . . and she is poseable.
Oh the fun you can have with a poseable zombie!
OK . . . maybe she's a little creepy, but her veil can hide that.

zombie doll swap . . .

Jill received her package . . . so I am able to post pictures of the doll I made for this year's Zombie Doll Swap.  Take a look here -  Yarnigras Swapper Spot
The theme for the swap was "Partying Zombies".  Jill prefers cute to creepy . . . so she got a cute little zombie named Jacey all dressed up and ready for a Halloween Party.

Is it Halloween yet?
