work or play?

The grandkids need a playhouse/fort and "Ampa" has time to build one.
It has been a fun project so far.

fun with Ampa . . .

I wasn't surprised when Richard suggested setting up a sprinkler for Charlotte to play in . . . and I wasn't surprised when she hesitated to run into the water,  that he pulled off his shirt and showed her how it was done.  LOL . . . way to go Ampa!

good things this weekend . . .

We decided to hang our chalkboard instead of just leaning it against the wall . . .
. . . and of course Charlotte had to help Grandpa.
She measured . . . and marked . . .
and as usual made the whole process much more fun.
It may not seem possible to actually enjoy every moment . . . but I can find some joy in every day!
I can find joy in the small stuff!  I can choose happiness every day!

GOOD THINGS THIS WEEKEND!
1. Our new chalkboard . . . and drawing with Charlotte
2. Yard work
3. Temperatures in the 80's
4. Sitting outside reading
5. Getting up early
6. Visiting Jake and Kasey
7. Painting Charlotte's nails . . . (why don't I have a picture of that?)
8. Hot tea . . . with a message
9. Fresh fruit for breakfast
10. Laughing so hard it hurt

Saturday . . .

If it wasn't for Grandpa she probably would have walked right through the mud and she probably would not have ventured close enough to pet the cows.  She liked the sheep best . . . "because they didn't stink like the pigs." . . . and informed us that, . . . "the cows were girl cows because they had earrings on."  She makes everything special . . . and somehow always convinces Grandpa to stop for ice cream.  What a great start to a long weekend.

the best view . . .

What better place to watch a Christmas parade than from Grandpa's shoulders.  We later caught up with Brent and Ashley and sat down ourselves . . . Charlotte then had room to wiggle, dance, and jump up and down when something in the parade made her excited.  It doesn't take much to get a three year old excited - especially when watching a parade.  My favorite part of the evening was when she asked her grandpa why he wasn't waving . . . then proceeded to tell him that, " . . . the next one you have to wave and say hi."  The next float drove by . . . Grandpa waved and said hi . . . she can get him to do just about anything.

dress up with grandpa . . .

I do believe this little girl could get her grandpa to do just about anything.
Thank heaven for little girls!

I love weekends . . .

She would not break down and give Grandpa a kiss . . . looks like she had definitely made up her mind.  : )

Yesterday we were all over the place . . .
Today was a nice relaxing Sunday at home.  It was a little cool, but the sun was warm and inviting - almost impossible to resist.  Charlotte is also hard to  resist -  and she loves to be outside . . . so outside we were.  The world is full of wonder to those young eyes . . . and it is fun to watch the world while watching her.
I did get a few practical things done, but most of that I let go today.
I am working on a new Shabby Charlotte doll . . . just thought I would share her smile.  I had planned one thing, then I was inspired to do something else with her.  She is going to be a fun one to make.  I had hoped to stay up late and maybe get her finished, but I think the day has been long enough.
