button magnets

I found some pins made out of buttons that my Aunt Sue made.  I decided to make magnets out of them.  Beer tabs and buttons . . . I will think of my aunt every time I look at them.

 A few cards from last week.  I am a little behind, but working on getting caught up.  

My mom is still visiting and I am making the most of the time she is still here.  She leaves the end of this week and I am already dreading saying good bye.  

I had to make cream puffs while mom was here.

It has helped to get up early and enjoy the quiet of early morning. 

Sometimes I wish that time of day could last just a little bit longer.

 I think I am glad the holiday weekend is over . . . even though holiday weekends are fun.

This week is going to be full of relaxing, creating, and being good to myself.

I'm still having fun with index cards . . . it's seems like I am always a day behind, but I also always get myself caught up.

Life has demanded a little more from me than I had anticipated this week . . . life is like that - right?!

So even more reason to take the time to create something . . . time to relax . . .

I always like to do something fun with my hair when I am off work.

This year I went with pink.  It is another whole look when my hair is curly.  I love it!

Unfortunately pink tends to fade rather quickly, but it is fun for a little while.

When life gets busy . . . 

take the time to find joy in the small stuff. 

 Charlotte's chalkboard drawing . . . it is . . . "a girl with angry eyebrows that is mad at her dad and mom because they won't give her candy."  I think she really captured the "angry eyebrows". 

 Coffee just tastes better in a great mug.  Love this one!

I am still crazy busy, but somehow found time to get caught up with my index cards . . .   

TV, playground, venn diagram (those flowers may represent that a little bit), bouquet (with a skeleton of course), wallpaper, landscape and orange.  The little orange zombie flower card actually looks better in person (much brighter).  

So I was caught up yesterday . . . now have to get a couple of cards done again.  I will be so glad to be off work for the summer . . . just a few more days.  Then I can enjoy the rest of the icad challenge and get busy with some other things.  Between work and knowing I will be off work soon - my mind is going all the time.  I wake up at night with ideas and thought of things I need to do, want to do . . . I am ready for Summer vacation!  I am ready to relax, have fun, create, spend time with my mom, take a road trip or two . . . 

Is it Summer yet?

My days are full and busy, but will be slowing down soon.  I am doing my best to keep up on the "index card a day" challenge.  Some of the prompts from the last few days . . . . top ten list, bowling, compass, island, baseball, and cobalt.  I can't say I am happy with all of them - but having fun just the same.  Things should actually be a little better after today.

The simple things

are often the most beautiful!

I love how certain smells bring back memories.  I have read that the sense of smell is linked to memory probably more than any of our senses.  

Walking through school yesterday and I smell cotton candy . . . 

I can't say that I have a bad memory that goes along with the smell of cotton candy.  

I love my job!  It's the last week of school - so why not be able to stop by a classroom and get some cotton candy.

life is busy . . .

My life is crazy busy at the moment, but then that is normal for this time of year.  It won't be long though until things slow down.  Until then I am doing my best each day to make a little time for myself . . . and taking time to find some joy in the little things.
