I'm still here . . .

It has been a crazy couple of weeks . . . and I just haven't made time to post and be online much at all.  I also haven't taken many pictures.  I hope to change that.
So much going on . . . much that I won't touch on here, except for a few pictures I did take.
We had Kasey's baby shower.  It was one of those occasions that I chose to enjoy rather than take pictures.  Only a few more weeks til we get to see our new granddaughter in person.
This little guy turned 5!  He is such a sweet little guy!
This was taken on his actual birthday.  He had a wonderful party with a lot of kids and chaos!
Just what you would expect at a 5 year old birthday party!
This was my great find at a thrift store this afternoon.  Thirty-three stamps . . . for $12.
I don't do a lot of stamping, but I could not walk past these for that price.  There are a few Halloween stamps and somewhere in there is a peace sign stamp.  I figure the ones I don't really like I can let the kids mess with.

Christmas cookies . . .

There's joy and wonder everywhere
when you see the world through the
eyes of a child.

Baking cookies with a three-year old is so much fun . . . and ever so messy, but some messes are just worth it.  She insists on helping every step of the way.  I guess I wouldn't have it any other way - although I have to keep an eye on her or she will just do her own thing . . . like picking up the salt and adding some more.  I have gotten pretty good at keeping things going like they should and still letting her have fun and think she is doing most of it herself.
Now the decorating . . . that was a different story.  I just let her do her thing.  After looking at her cookies I do believe that sugar cookies decorated by small children have to be some of the happiest looking cookies ever . . .
On the other hand . . . my kitchen does not look so happy.

It's SUMMER!

The last week of school is so incredibly busy  . . . the days fly  by because there is so much to do, yet I never seem to get enough done.  This may be partially because I have learned that no matter how much there is to do - it is important to also take the time to have fun and enjoy the good stuff.  I have posted several pictures of these wonderful ladies . . . they are simply wonderful.  I have found out that people have changed their routes to work in order to drive by our school.  I can't even count how many shouts and honks they got . . . just while I was out taking this picture.  I am wondering what they have in store for the first day of school?
I have seen so many cute cookies and cupcakes lately . . . this is one of my favorites.
I am learning to fold cranes with fingernails . . . or rather to fold them as quickly as I do without fingernails.  I still am not too sure about keeping these nails up . . . not too sure if I even like this design - but I do like the black one.

Take me out to the ball game.  I sometimes miss the days we spent at baseball games when the boys were young . . . the good thing is it starts over.  This little guy loves baseball already . . . that's my kind of kid!
. . . and with the last week of school over and done with . . . and the temperatures hitting 100 this weekend - I declare Summer has officially started!

Sunday Stuff

 SMILE!

CHEERS!

I got everything done on my list today - shopped a little, baked a little, cleaned a little . . .
I didn't quite get my Shabby Charlotte doll done . . . but I need to think about how I want to accessorize her and what is going to go into her story.  I should have her listed for sale in a couple of days.

I included a link to the cookie recipe above.  They are good . . . very sweet, but small enough that it isn't too much.
Only ten more days to work before Winter Break . . . yes, I'm counting.
