relax and be silly . . .

When you have one of those days - like today . . take some time to relax and be silly . . . it can't hurt, and sometimes it really helps.

Kiss Me - I'm Irish!

Our St. Patrick's Day tradition is to make corned beef and cabbage . . . along with everything that goes with it.  Usually we have a house full of people when we cook this meal, but this year it was just Richard and I.  It was fun . . . and the food was delicious.  Richard was home today - so he put the corned beef on early and even baked a green cake (from scratch).  We had mashed potatoes, carrots, homemade soda bread, and  horseradish sauce . . . For dessert - Richard's green PEACE cake and Irish Coffee.
If you're enough lucky to be Irish,
you're lucky enough!

some green, a little pink, and some sidewalk chalk . . .

 PEACE ~ LOVE ~ PLANET

We had some weekend family fun . . . with grandpa getting creative with the sidewalk chalk.  Owen and Charlotte found that drawing, throwing the chalk, and tasting the chalk are all fun activities.  I love watching Richard with the kids.  I tease him that I know he is a good man, because kids and dogs love him.
Monday morning . . . St. Patrick's Day . . . of course our crossing guards are dressed for the occasion.  Tonight . . . corned beef and cabbage.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

good choice . . .

This has been a long, somewhat stressful week for us . . . so yesterday when Richard suggested getting out of the house for a couple of hours . . . I figured that was more important than staying home and doing laundry and dishes.  We went shopping, stopped at a local brewery that was having a beer tasting event, looked at cars, and enjoyed the beautiful Spring day.  We ended up being away all afternoon . . . the house is still a mess, and the laundry still needs to be done . . . but it was a good day.  Sometimes it is better to just go have fun . . .

Friday morning smiles . . .

This is what I found on my desk this morning when I came to work. It was nice to start Friday with some silliness . . . especially after a somewhat more than crazy week.
Lily's doodles this morning . . . she was very proud of the fact that she now can draw peace signs without any help.
I haven't seen much of Lily this week . . . she does my heart good!
PEACE!

show me that handsome face . . .

This is what he does every time I try to take his picture . . . I am not sure when he started doing this or even why he does it, but I think he just likes to try to get me riled up.  Looking at these tonight made me smile.
I love that face!

Shabby Charlotte Doll - Cosetta

I am finally posting photos of my latest little Shabby Charlotte doll.  I have had her finished - just haven't had the time to take pictures.  A little doll full of magic . . . and who believes in love . . . that's my kind of doll.  :)  I hope to have her listed on my Etsy shop later today.

Cosetta is a special little voodoo doll – in that she uses her magic for good rather than for hurting people.  Her favorite thing to do with her magic is to help people fall in love.  She always carries a little bit of love potion in her bag . . . just in case she sees someone who needs a little push.  Somehow . . . she just seems to know who is supposed to fall in love with each other.  She likes strong coffee, she starts every day with a smile on her face, and she believes a good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything.  Keep this little doll nearby . . . and you may find that her magic rubs off on you.

Life is great!

Lily was very proud of her artwork when I picked her up after school on Friday.  Then it was very important to just stuff that pretty painting in her backpack.  Kids are wonderful!  One of the quotes that I found for my 1000 paper crane project recently was . . . "Children think not of what is past, nor what is to come, but enjoy the present time, which few of us do."  ~ Jean de La Bruyere  I am constantly amazed my the children in my life . . .
Life is great!  Enjoy every moment that you can!

Just for Today . . .

Outside my window . . . warm and overcast – I love this kind of weather.
I am thinking . . . if we take every day as it comes – we can get through just about anything.
I am thankful for . . . my husband.
From the kitchen . . . pancakes – Richard called me this morning and told me it was National Pancake Day (he knows that I like that kind of thing) . . . 30 minutes later he showed up at my work with scrambled eggs and pancakes.  What a great way to start the day!
I am wearing . . . jeans and a Santa Clara University t-shirt (College Day at school).
I am creating . . . a clean and organized craft room . . . it looks wonderful!  Now it’s time to create something.  Nearly done with a doll that I thought would have been finished ages ago.
I am going . . . to probably drink way too much coffee today.  J
I am reading . . Fifty Shades Freed . . . I ended up reading this whole series.  It was better than I thought it was going to be when I started the first book. I don't think I will bother watching the movie when it comes out.
I am hoping . . . to get out some St. Patrick’s Day decorations tonight.
I am hearing . . . nothing – I found a nice quiet place to enjoy my lunch break.
Around the house . . . cleaning out!

One of my favorite things . . . the new work table that I got for my craft room.  (which is what caused me to completely clean and reorganize that room)
A few plans for the rest of the week . . . write a story for my newest doll, cut out some more dolls,

From my picture journal . . . I haven't posted much this week - life has been busy . . . so just some random photos from a very busy week.  But not too busy to at least snap of few pictures of things that caught my eye.
