weekend stuff . . .

This actually turned out a little better than I thought it was going to.  I took butcher paper and taped it together to form a square 9' by 9'.  then crawled around on the floor to fold it.  My biggest concern was that the paper would rip and I would have to start over . . . but I managed to get it folded.  The paper is not heavy enough to support it - so I had to reinforce with with some dowels.  It still doesn't stand up - but I think if I hang it - it will look great.  Now I just have to find a place to hang it up so I can get some good pictures.  Oh, the quotes I could write on this crane . . .

random stuff on my desk . . .

"The essence of life is not in the great victories and grand failures,
but in the simple joys."  ~ Johnathan Lockwood Huie

The things I find on my desk . . . a heart made of Cheerios?. . . magic lemons from Iraq?
Things like this just make me smile . . . and realize just how great life is and how special the people in my life are!
Now, I need to find out more about these lemons . . .

me and my shadow . . .

“Why's it so sunny?" she repeated.
Zooey observed her rather narrowly. "I bring the sun wherever I go, buddy," he said.”

Lily . . . my little shadow every morning.  I must remember not to take these mornings for granted.  We have our routine before school starts and even though that routine is basically the same each day . . . there is also something special about everyday . . . if I take the time to notice.  I lifted my phone up to take this top picture of her this morning . . . and up came that little hand into a peace sign.  She is growing up so fast . . . my dear Lily.
Yesterday's heart . . . my heart shaped post-it notes.  Maybe all post-it notes should be heart shaped . . . or smiley faces, or stars . . . you can't help but feel a little better using a post-it like that - right? Those pink hearts are much more fun than the plain old pastel yellow post-its . . . but then I have a thing for post it notes.  (just not the boring yellow ones).
Today's heart . . .
It was a crazy, busy day with a long meeting at the end of the work day . . . hitting some tennis balls was exactly what I needed!  Sometimes I just need to run and play in the sunshine like I did when I was a kid . . . I think we all can benefit from that.

peace . . . love . . . doll body

My dear friend made me these great tile coasters.  She used black tiles that she bought a Michael's . . . Mod-Podge, and scrapbook paper.  They are so cute!
Today's heart . . .
. . . and a doll body ready to go.  I'm not sure what I am going to do with this one yet - but that is usually when I have the most fun making a doll.

Happy Birthday Planet . . . Happy Birthday Clare

I know it was a good birthday when the night ended and I realized I only have four good pictures from the whole day . . . but sometimes it is better just to enjoy the people I love and forget about taking pictures.  I have the most amazing family - and they made my birthday just what a birthday should be!

. . . not everyone gets a rainbow on their birthday.

Rally Day!

We had a circus theme rally at school today . . . the reason I was making the lion costume.  So a little last minute face painting . . . and this big cat was ready for the rally.

I wish I had taken more pictures and I wish I could post pictures of the kids.
The rally was fantastic! . . . Our staff is fantastic!

new zombie mug . . .

A bonus heart for today . . . I have to post pictures of my new zombie mug that Jennifer made me for my birthday.  She did such a great job!
I LOVE IT!

more hearts for 2015 . . .

My hearts for yesterday and today . . . and just a little reminder that we saw along the road.
Happy Friday!

Sweetheart . . .

I work with a woman . . . who is always making something fun.  Today's heart is a sample of what she is making for her daughter's class Valentines.  She is going to put them on small paper bags and fill them with treats.  She loves working with paper - and it sounded as if she may have just discovered rubber stamps,  It is fun to share ideas and talk about our projects.  We share the frustration of having more ideas than time . . . so we have decided that we should just turn the conference room in our office into a craft room.  Now there's an idea!

"You've lost your mind . . . "

One of the men that I work with wanted a lion costume (last minute) . . . He brought me an old sweatshirt, some fabric, a brown scarf, a couple of trims and a scarf knitted out of fuzzy yarn.  I'm not done yet, but I couldn't wait to post this picture of Richard trying it on for me.  Don't let the face fool you . . . he was SO willing to try it on.  It actually is going to turn out better than I thought it would.  I finished adding trim to the hood for a fuller mane . . . and added some ears on top.  I also am working on a tail.  To be honest . . . I really wasn't very excited about making this costume, but I am glad I did.  I will hopefully get a picture of Mikey in the costume - once it is finished.
This may be one of my new favorite pictures of my husband . . . It is that "you've lost your mind" look that he gives me so often . . . (it really means that he loves me.)
, , , and some fun new goodies I found yesterday.
A new journal, a pouch to hold my pens, and some clips.

origami heart . . .

Today's heart of the day is an origami heart that sits on my desk - made by a good friend a couple of years ago.  It is getting a little worn . . . people are always picking it up and asking about it.

Lily's heart . . .

Today's heart is from Lily.
She loves making things out of these little beads . . . and I love the heart that she made for me.
My doodle for the day in the background . . . a little groundhog.  Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning . . . 6 more weeks of Winter.
