things I like today . . . .

I love this chalkboard!  It is painted on the back of a cabinet that would otherwise look ugly and have to be put against a wall.  I have to think how I could rearrange my furniture to do this.
Cute easy garlands . . .
and cranes made out of a flower shop calendar.
A journal page . . . waiting for words . . .
. . . blue nail polish, fun earrings, and $10 off . . .

a little more glitter . . .

Just a few simple little projects . . . and I think there is glitter in every room in my house, but that's part of the fun.  I have a couple more glass pieces drying to use for St. Patrick's Day.  I especially like the little green picture frame.

Valentine Dance

Lily's date for this year's Princess Ball . . . was none other than Papa.
She looked at him so cute when he walked out and handed her a rose.
They had a good time . . . although Papa said that she ditched him at one point to be with her friends.
She is really growing up . . . our Lily!
2013 - 80's theme dance with Uncle "Jabub"
2014 - Princess Ball with Uncle Luke and Uncle Boo.  Uncle Jacob was supposed to be in on this one also, but had something else going on and couldn't make it.
Thank heaven for little girls!

Dream passionately!
Love completely!

I've had these little bottles tucked away in a drawer for years.  Why I haven't thrown them out I don't know . . . oh yeah, I remember - I keep things like this just because I'm a crazy person who makes stuff and you never know when I may just need tiny little perfume bottles.  So last night when I finally had time to play with glitter . . . I needed these little perfume bottles . . .
. . . and this frame and candy box which are getting glittered today.

Saturday morning inspiration . . .

"The imagination is a palette of bright colors.  You can use it to touch up memories - or you can use it to paint dreams."
~ Robert Brault
 . . . just a reminder!

Betsey Johnson kleenex boxes . . . love them!  They make me want to redecorate my bathroom . . . not a bad idea, but I think I will wait until this summer.
. . . paper cranes (folded and waiting for quotes) - and another reminder!
I found this little sewing box at a thrift store for only $5.  It is full of every color of thread that is probably too old to ever use . . . but it was one of those things that said "buy me."

Tulip glitter from ilovetocreate
I have been wanting to play with glitter for a couple of weeks . . . but don't seem to get it done.
I have some ideas . . . so maybe today will be the day.

birthday card journal . . .

Once again this year I took my birthday cards and a couple of Valentines and made them into a journal.  I love making these.  I used a very special handmade card for the cover of my journal.  It was too special to hide inside the journal.  Lorraine makes the most wonderful cards . . . you can see them and all the other creative things she does here -  Paper Vernissage
In the past I have tried different ways of binding my cards together . . . this year I simple went with glue.  It works great for this kind a project.  I simply glued the edges of the cards - then clamped the cards together until the glue dried.

I decide to add a little washi tape to each page.  It helps hold the cards together a little better . . . and besides - I love washi tape!

How I just have to fill the empty spaces up with whatever comes to mind when I feel the need to write in a journal.
Writing in a journal reminds you of your goals and of your learning in life. It offers a place where you can hold a deliberate, thoughtful conversation with yourself.

FUN day!

I had planned on getting so many things done today . . . and to at least finish the doll that I am working on, but our shopping turned into a day of wandering . . .

. . . shopping . . . lunch . . . and a stop at a bakery.  I had no intention of buying a King Cake, but it looked too fun to pass up . . . as did these other little cakes.  The heart shaped one was a raspberry cream sort of cake,  the one in the middle was tiramisu, and a delicious chunk of carrot cake.  Along with a hot cup of coffee . . . perfect way to celebrate today. (I am going to have to walk a little extra tomorrow.)

. . . and of course trying on hats.
Today was good.
Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.
