Misty

I finished up a doll for Nayia today. I like the zombie mouth on this one. Her name is Misty.

boots and beads

My hippy accessories . . . my boots and beads are the favorite part of my costume.

I had spotted these boots before I had decided to dress up as a hippy. I had talked myself out of them - thinking that I would look silly at my age wearing fringed leather boots. Then when I had to put together a hippy costume - well . . . I had to have the boots. But I love the boots - so silly looking at my age or not. I'm wearing them! -

just a few more . . .

This teacher is dressed as Mr. Welter when he was 29 . . . who??????

This is Mr Welter.

Just can't get enough of this cute bug!

I work with the most wonderful people! I am truly blessed to work with a group of people that do amazing things everyday with the kids at our school.

just a few more things . . .

It all started with Thing 1 and Thing 2 . . .

. . . and a pirate.
No not a pirate . . . it was a Cat in a Hat.

I can't leave out Thing 4 - she is one of my favorite Things!

Happy Halloween!

Tinkerbell and Bat Girl. "Exactly how do you pose like that Tink?"
Tickle me Elmo with Mom.

Peace Out Sophia! What an adorable bug!

"I get by with a little help from my friends."

Fun Day at Work

Where's Waldo
Girls just want to have fun!

"These things will not bite you - They want to have fun. Then out of the box - come Thing 2 and Thing 1." (. . . and Thing 3, Thing 4, Thing 5, Thing 6, Thing 7, and Thing 8). We had 8 Things on campus yesterday.

Of course one of my favorites - What's Halloween without Raggedy Ann?

Clyda is always so cute. She is an amazing woman. She retired some years ago - but I think she works more now than she ever did. I love this lady!!! -

Frankie

I made one of my dolls for a little friend of mine - Mattea. I always have to give them a name - so this is Frankie
Frankie under construction. I really need to make these little dolls more often . . . I love putting them together - they just seem to have their own individual personalities. I have another one to finish tonight for Mattea's sister.

Great day at work today - kids and staff can wear costumes. I will have to post pictures of some of the costumes later . . .
I love this time of year!

Happy Halloween!

A place for all my spiders

I thought that each of my little spiders needed a special place to sit. I don't think Jake likes this part of my Halloween decorating.
I brought these home from work because one of the girls I work with is afraid of spiders . . .
forgetting that Jake is too. I am sure he doesn't like this part of my Halloween decorations.
I honestly thought he would see this one when he walked in the house - and get mad at me for putting there. Maybe he hasn't noticed.

These two are my favorites -

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Wickedly Fabulous

A few more spiders that need to find a place to rest. I brought them to work this morning, but one of the girls that works in our office is afraid of spiders (even purple glittery ones) - so they will have to find a place to sparkle at home.

Today should be a busy day - but since I can choose my attitude . . . I've decided today will be Wickedly Fabulous!

Monday already?

I wish I had taken a picture of this shoe before I glittered it. It was all different colors - very bright - sort of ugly. I think it was a figurine from The Dollar Store . . . a little spray paint and a few shakes of glitter - sort of simple, but I love how it turned out. My large spider found a place to rest.

"Welcome to my parlor, said the spider to the fly."

October Stuff

More glitter . . . I can't help myself. It does seem as if the glitter has found it's way onto every surface in my house.
Good friends dressing up for Halloween parties.

Neighbors decorating their yards . This just makes me laugh. Underneath the sheet is this sort of yellow German Shepard statue (actually very weird looking - and quite good size) One of the neighbor's dad gave it to her as a birthday present. (he told her maybe it would make people think that she had a dog - and possibly act as a deterrent to anyone thinking about breaking into their house.) I thought the statue was funny before - with the ghost costume . . . even better!

It has been a busy weekend. I helped Luke and Abbie move some of their stuff yesterday, we went to a 1 year old birthday party . . . and have another birthday party to go to today for out dear niece Jessica. Laundry . . . laundry . . . laundry (it never ends) - and cleaning. Every once in awhile I stop to sprinkle some glitter on something.

but I hate spiders . . .

OK - I am obsessed with glitter. It just makes anything fun. If I can think a spider looks fun - then the glitter must have some special magic.Lovely little orange sparkling spiders . . .

love them!

I absolutely love when we are all together.

My sons are amazing and I adore their girlfriends.

I glittered up another skeleton - I think this silver one is even cuter than the purple one. I have been out somewhere nearly every night this week - or I probably would have a lot more things glittered. I am busy again tonight - so maybe this weekend. I still want to do spiders, a witches shoe, and I found some other skeletons that are just screaming to be glittered. I am just going to have to make myself stay up late and get them done.

new mug - old mug

My new Halloween mug . . . I have been looking for something different - found this one at Barnes and Noble. I like how it looks next to my desk doodling.
Then there is this old mug . . .
Happy Birthday Coach!
I really shouldn't joke about him being old - I'm right behind him.
My sparkling skeleton found some Halloween ribbon and a place to hang.
I can't get enough of this sparkly guy.

couldn't sleep . . .

For some reason when I am adding this photo to my post - it is sideways. I have had that trouble before. Whatever I am doing wrong - I can't figure it out . . . so a sideways skull it is. Played with glitter a little more at 3:30 this morning. For some reason I couldn't sleep - so after laying there for an hour getting more and more frustrated because I couldn't sleep - I decided just to get up . . . I glittered a couple of skulls and spray painted a little witches shoe that I am going to glitter up tonight along with some spiders.

I wish had more of these skulls - I think they look so great all "a-glitter". I especially like them because they are cut outs that my dad did a few years ago. I wish I could show him how cute they look this way. I've been missing him a little more than usually lately. I miss going down to his shop and seeing his cut outs hanging up - or thrown in one of the boxes he made to hold whatever happened to fall into it. His shop was usually sort of a mess . . . but he seemed to be able to find anything he was looking for. Missing him . . . but thinking about him brings back some good memories . . . and that makes me smile. Love you Dad!

out of control!

Stella is out of control. I believe she was watching me the whole time I was putting out my Halloween decorations - waiting for me to hang something up that dangled just enough for her to play with . . . or set something out that had any amount of raffia on it for her to go after. I dumped these little light covers out to keep her occupied. She followed me everywhere - she had to smell or paw every decoration I put out. She is adorable, but her antics are endless . . . and often times come at 4:00 in the morning. I can't help wondering how she is going to react to a Christmas tree with ornaments.

Pumpkins and Stars

Abbie and I glittered the cardboard stars that I cut out last week. I haven't messed with glitter in awhile - I love how it gets everywhere - no matter how careful you are. My table glitters, the grass glitters - the whole patio is sparkling!
I wanted the stars to hang on my patio. Noting special . . . but I love how these pumpkins look hanging outside in October - especially with the glittering stars. I have to run an extension cord tonight - so I can keep the lights lit.
Two of these pumpkins belonged to Luke and Jake when they used to go trick or treating.
I miss the days of making costumes . . . class parties . . . trick or treating . . . going through the stash of candy to see what they were willing to share.
My happy pumpkins in the daylight. I think they are happier after dark.

When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,

'tis near Halloween
