I know it is still September . . . I can't help myself.

With October so close . . . I can't help myself, I just have to get an early start with my Halloween decorations this year.  Charlotte had so much fun helping me with the skeletons.  She gave them all names.   Jennifer sent me this picture of Lily when they were at Target on Saturday.  Wait . . . I haven't been to Target since they have their Halloween stuff out . . . I think I may need to take Lily and Charlotte with me.
36 days til Halloween!

pop . . . fizz . . . clink . . .

New Year's Eve calls for champagne and little champagne cage chairs . . . they make wonderful little ornaments.
2014 has been interesting to say the least . . . as it comes to an end I find myself looking forward to the new year for no other reason than I like new beginnings.  I like the start of a new school year . . . I like to open that first blank page of a new journal . . . I like the feeling that each and every day is a new beginning.  A new year just makes me reflect a little more than usual.  As I start 2015, I think I am more myself than I have been in a long time.  It is a good feeling!
Happy New Year!

little glittered chairs

I added some glitter to some little champagne cage chairs . . . they make wonderful ornaments.
Everything is better with glitter!

new journal . . .

Our librarian at school was throwing out some books.  I liked the size of this one and thought it would make a great little picture journal.  So I simply covered it with a paper bag that I had kept because I liked the paper . . . (and I can't seem to part with pretty paper.)

It makes a perfect little journal.
I found these great note cards at World Market . . . I am still doing my 365 day mail challenge and thought these would be fun to send off to some one's mailbox.
"Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife.  The first question was, 'Did you bring joy?'  The second was,  'Did you find joy?'

Summer

Mango Salsa - mango, red pepper, green onion, jalapeno, cilantro, lime juice, and lemon juice

Somehow . . . as busy as I have been this week, I have managed to make little chairs out of champagne cages, make mango salsa (which was delicious on the fish tacos that Luke made), watch soccer and taste a couple of good beers, watch "Harry and the Henderson's" outside, play some tennis . . . and still manage to get a ton of work done - both at work and at home.  It won't be too much longer before I can simply relax and put work aside for a few weeks . . . I find myself so motivated this time of year - but it's me . . . I can always get distracted.  That tennis court and glass of beer look way more fun than painting my living room.  So we'll see what happens . . .
I think I need to make a Summer Bucket list.  Not a bad idea . . what would be on your list?
