Walking and Dandelions

I went for a walk yesterday. It was such a beautiful day. I ended up with blisters on my feet, because I did not intend on walking 3 miles when I set out - and I did not have on decent shoes - but it was so nice out - I just kept walking.
I have always liked dandelions. They remind me of my childhood. My grandma - she never wanted any of them in her yard - and I remember helping her dig them out with a paring knife. I remember holding them under our chins when we were young and getting yellow all over our chins. I think it was supposed to mean you liked butter. I remember taking bouquets of dandelions to my mom and taking the stems and making chains out of them. And of course blowing the ones that had gone to seed and watching the seeds float in the air - (more dandelions to dig out of my grandma's lawn.)
" You cannot forget if you would those golden kisses all over the cheeks of the meadow, queerly called dandelions." ~ Henry Ward Beecher
"If dandelions were hard to grow, they would be most welcome on any lawn." ~ Andrew V. Mason

  1. I don't think we will see dandelions til June. We have winter storm warnings out but I think only up north will get the snow. I hope. I love the green boas in the previous post.
